Forget the roundel. The concrete work in the bottom pic is for want of a better word.....shite

Honestly having walked most of the prom today it really is a crap job all along.

Shoddy workmanship and poor design from one end to the other.

What is the planned end date at the moment?

I think the plan is to keep the work going forever so they never have to say how much it has cost.

giving broadway priority over the prom heading south should change the trafic patterns in the morning, stuff coming from port jack will be backed up to  groudle.

Assuming it’s a roundabout, if people use it properly (ie, no direction has “priority” then it should be fine.

Unfortunately no one here can use roundabouts and just sit there while traffic from the right ploughs through without letting the others go

If that has been signed off by the powers that be then we really are in trouble. The standard of workmanship is just terrible .. The finishing to the various areas and to concrete and tarmac it really would be hard to make a worse job than they have . Incredible really . A Prom to be proud off . Not !!

Couple more pics of this masterpiece.

It looks like some sort of optical illusion, (assuming it's not the camera angle?)

How is any of that compliant with road marking regulations?

The current re jigged plan is August but then they have to return later in the year to finish the tracks to sea terminal and yes !! dig up this roundabout allegedly and do it in stone/granite although I've heard it said that this could be the roundabouts final finish . In the original plans this roundabout and the one by the sefton were to be feature stone/granite and raised .

There was a damage only RTC too where someone barreled through the green light coming down Broadway thinking that was a green light for priority to head out onto the Prom.

What / who was the green light for?

sounds like the New Castletown Rd / Groves Road junction over again.

There were lights as you came down Broadway at the time there was a stop sign at the bottom where you came into the prom.  Think it was a temporary crossing.

No end of people not surprisingly  went through the free light, which was about 20 yards before the stop sign, and assumed they were getting a green light to join the prom.

Genius

The traffic lights were purely there as a pedestrian crossing but were so close to the actual junction that to an unaware driver they could be mistaken for signalling the junction.

While the driver probably should have been more observant, the road should be laid out to meet basic standards.
