The single lane track will run from the War Memorial to the Sea Terminal on the Prom side hence no provision for the track in the middle of the Prom. No they won't. The time/disruption and chaos that the first little but of train track has caused has seen to it. Apparently they can use the same train track on the electric railway. It's great news if Loch Prom will finally be tram free! It's just a shame they built any new track at the other end. Could have saved millions and reduced the work by months! Still if it keeps a couple of sad anoraks happy then of course it's worth it!
Dave Hedgehog
Prom is coned off all the way to Jaks now. Let the proper disruption commence....

It is well known that Ian Longworth wanted the new tram line to terminate at the Sefton, and apparently he threw his toys around quite a lot, but eventually lost the argument. But, I'm sure that you are wrong about the plans for Loch Prom being changed, for two reasons:- 1. The section from the Sea Terminal to Broadway is subject to Planning Consent, which has been obtained, and so they can't just randomly change the plan, in such a fundamental way, on a whim. 2. The new red/pink concrete area on Loch Promenade, which will eventually be some sort of pedestrian refuge, in the middle of the new carriageway. Its position allows for where the 'middle' will be, when the horse trams are on the seaward side, next to the sunken gardens.
On The Bus
A bit of research and I'm told there's no further work on the northern end of the Promenade until they work out why their crappy concrete is cracking up. So the long-suffering busineses have to endure an extended loss of parking.

Longworth is a twat who should have been finally seen off by the farce he’s created on that stretch of the prom. All so he can play at being the fat controller of loss making horse trams even if it bankrupts tax paying private businesses by cutting them off from passing trade for years and years. Dave Hedgehog
Blimey. There are a fair few cracks in the new red bit. Time for our Rob to table a question in the house I reckon.
Non-Believer
Those cracks have been carefully installed in accordance with the cracks in the plans...
Gizo
Add the Peel road cock up, the continued Gansey road debacle, Richmond Hill, third world road from 4rds through PSM. Whoever is in charge of roads should be sacked on the spot.
