Two lots of Strategic Board minutes have been added to the website for April and May.

https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/myprom.im/21-04-09-signed-douglas-promenade-project-board-minutes_redacted.pdf

A few highlights:-

  • The target date for completion is 28/8, but Black insists it should be 26/8 ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
  • They still don't have an acceptable solution to the cracked concrete.
  • Siemens have given up trying to design a traffic light solution for the trams.
  • There was nothing wrong with the rail lines that were ripped up - the problem was with the welding.

What is the "Bus stops being extended" all about? The bump outs looked finished last time I saw them?

These minutes are produced April and May and represent months before that I'd say . Interestingly there not optimistic for finishing on August 28th and I would agree they have no chance. Nothing much flagged up on quality of work either which worries me as in many areas not addressed its terrible.

No traffic lights - no horse trams? Given that the lack of the traffic lights was flagged up as a significant failing and non-modern compliant previously?

The minutes are for the date shown. They aren't published until they have been approved at the next meeting, checked and any redactions made.

There appears to be a lot of parking disappeared, the town shops will continue to die if that is the case.

The lack of diagonal on the sea side means about 50% gone there and the hotel side seems to be taxis, buses and loading so Yes, lots of parking gone.....

Would they of had to have traffic lights/signaling system if the horse tram tracks were kept completely separate to road?

Or are they a requirement of going from double to single lane?

The diagonal parking and narrowed carriageway is going to be an insurance claim hotspot

There is no diagonal parking on the new layout!

Parallel parking only! That will be fun for the cant drive lot.

There is opposite the bus stop on Loch Prom

The plans over on MyProm website has a few bays of parallel parking along Loch Prom. It's going to be narrow.
