. No thought given to 5 years plus down the road , excuse the pun, and how to maintain the aesthetics. Some will say its not going to last that long and looking at the standard of the works they could be right .

whats even worse , every day  traffic is like TT week on the Quarterbridge road , Bucks road  is under so much pressure  its surface in collapsing , the Promenade used to be the main feeder into Douglas from the North , but thats gone now ,and all that seems to be happening is gridlock on the other link roads and everywhere snarl ups with antiquated traffic lights ,and outdated traffic management systems , time to bring someone in who understands highways management and traffic flows , DOI has just become a Clown show !

Baker's pamphlet just popped through the door. I quote, 'You have a five year track record to judge me against'.

Oh yes we have!

My postie had a box of Mr Baker's pamphlets in his van. One for every nail in every toilet wall in the constituency....

Wait until they start Glencrutchery (rumoured mid-September).

There is no network planning of any sort. There should be easy routes into town.

The elephant in the room is that Douglas needs a new multistorey car park. But the crayonistas in DOI think we'll all ride a pushbike instead.

There are scores of cyclists in government, they should realise how dangerous cycling on the island has become and the current road works are making it worse!.

There certainly are. Cycling is the new 'meeting on the golf course' for the Isle of Man Goverment.

And this is why !

The Cycle to Work Scheme is a scheme which allows all Isle of Man Government permanent employees who meet the conditions outlined in Section 5 to obtain cycles and cycle safety equipment from their employer. ... The cost to the employer is no more than £1,200 per employee in any period of three tax years.
