If you run over a pedestrian you are in the wrong regardless of whether they were on a crossing or not so ot won't really change the liability. It will only change the law where if someone has a foot on the crossing you must stop.

It won’t make a blind but of difference in that respect, come TT/MGP the foreigners just plow straight over a Zebra crossing regardless, more than a few have had the V sign flipped their way over the years.

Black or any other civil servant shouldn’t have ‘an agenda’. They are there to give effect to government policy. CEOs should be seen and not heard.

Good luck with that one . Can't see that happening . Be interesting if it did ! Without a restriction on what they could be asked .

you wont get any change with Phil Gawne  hosting the programme don't forget the disasters  he hatched when minister for Infrastructure  the huge roundabout at Colby plus the flooding after the roadworks  near Ballabeg ,and the mega tarmac on the sloc  road  to provide a smooth ride up to his new house , jut to name a few    ! it would be better if these programmes where chaired by someone with  a few less skeletons in the cupboard ,and without the vested interest  of other family members working for Manx radio , a tad incestuous   don't you think

True but, it makes a prosecution more difficult though if a driver can claim it's not a regular crossing and so they had no obligation to take a higher level of care than they would on any stretch of road at that speed limit.

Have heard of the same happening at that stupid thing at St Johns.  The one that is frequently used by people on horses

Yep, lets make the road safer for the 4 weeks of the year (for guys racing between manx stone walls and trees and houses at 100mph+) and give the rest of ordinary people a non-standard crossing for the other 48 weeks of the year.

Presumbaly someone who could invent white tarmac would make a fortune?

Oh wait, they have.

At least the dark read will hide any bloodstains i guess.

Has there been any investigation into the tragic death in that crossing & whether the crossing was a contributory factor?

Pfft, no.

Everyone knows that that stupid, err I don't know what it is, its not a crossing but it sort of is, whatever it is, everyone knows that it simply being there contributed to that death, just as everyone knows that they'll never ever admit it.
