The DOI can manufacture and supply red tarmac at Poortown Quarry as they have done previously, although if they were to rip up the concrete which they should have done at the start rather than continuing to lay an inferior product NB JR and RH would have to swallow their pride and admit they got it wrong, we can blame the designers/contractors as much as we like but they are only following orders from the 3 people mentioned above as they were the overall chiefs who agreed to every that has occurred throughout the project. Do we know that their original design didn't include some kind of encapsulation of the tram rails, only for it to be 'de-scoped' by somebody in Government as a cost saving measure/they (thought they) knew better?

In this case we have a better idea than usual because when this row first broke out, BSA tried to blame Auldyn and Auldyn went and got an independent report which tore the design to shreds. Buster Lewin then got this out of the DoI with a FoI request. There more details in a comment I made back in December 2019 and you can use those to try to get to the FoI (as usual you can't link directly and they've made the site even more user-unfriendly since).

Hugh G Rection
Disgusted by what I seen yesterday evening. Douglas Promenade, just past Marmaris in the single-file carriageway between the temporary traffic lights. The pavement from the bottom of broadway onwards heading towards Onchan is completely blocked for atleast 200m on the land side. No alternative pedestrian route on that side of the road, therefore you have to backtrack from Marmaris and access that very unclear pedestrian crossing. I am driving along, and there's a blind gentlemen, with his guide dog, in the middle of the carriageway, luckily some lovely people in a car from the otherside were already assisting him back to safety. What does that tell you about the fucking shambolic state of the prom and incompetency from the DOI to not even be able to put in contingency plans for pedestrians that guide dogs can also understand? Poor Guide dog was obviously confused, let alone the poor gentlemen that had to be escorted back to safety.
