Latest cock up seems to be regarding the bus stops . Due to cars parking in the designated areas it prevents the buses stopping close enough to disembark safely when they drop the bus.

Nothing has really changed then, most of the street furniture is a complete after thought, they never consult a driver, a good example is the bus stop at the Town Hall on Lord Street.

I don’t see many of the minibuses actually operating, it seems to be the double deckers going around with very few passengers on

Off topic but I was on a single decker bus the other day. The back window was completely covered up with some sort of advert ( forgotten what for) . Apart from making me feel somewhat claustrophobic it obscured the view for the driver.

I know he/she has his mirrors but I wouldn’t want to drive my car with the back window blacked out.

Ever driven a van?  There are thousands of them on the road everyday and it is a total non issue.

Or a wagon, cement mixer, bin lorry etc etc

Buses have never had a rear view mirror, if you saw an interior mirror it would have been to keep an eye on the passengers, when reversing/looking behind it’s always been a case of relying on the two side mirrors, most new HGVs and Buses have rear cameras fitted now though, although in saying that most artics/trailers still don’t.

I wonder how much it cost per M3?

So whats the odds they put the proper expansion protection i between the rails and the concrete this time? And I wonder how many of the rails will need relaying/replacing. I can't recall were these ones welded... might be hard to get the specialist welders to come visit after the Jurby Hilton experience.

Douglas Promenade so good they did it twice.. or is it thrice by now?

Looking forward to next June and all of the new balck circle out visiting two wheel friends will add the the granite and coloured concrete. Not ot mention the first time they lift any paving to do utilities/drainage and don't put it down in the right pattern.
