KERED
7 hours ago, James Blonde said: I once attended one of those Promenade meetings they held at the Sea Terminal - a DOI mandarin delighted in telling me that the holes in those kerb stones are "uniquely sized for Douglas Promenade". So no doubt whatever standard machine they use to clean them in the rest of the world won't work here and we'll need a unique super-duper machine to clean them. Maybe the famous Chewy-Gobbler could be adapted to clear the drain holes?

Manufacturers were paid and then disappeared. David Christian tried to justify the loss by saying that the transporting vehicle had continued to see service in other duties. I met the chewy gobbler at a Star Wars convention is Blackpool a few years back. Unfortunately I was in attendance as R2D2 that year but she was VERY popular with some of the other attendees
Itsmeee
The new spaces for parallel parking along the prom are all too narrow. Also, what the heck is going on on the roadway/tramlines to the north of Broadway? They’ve made the carriageway really narrow and there some strange sort of chicane thing on the seaward side with toblerone concrete.
doc.fixit
Just got back from Douglas, Jeez, what a chaotic mess around the terminal and the clock, at least three vehicles went the wrong way and then backed up the existing chaos trying to turn round. Whoever designed the diversions and road works really doesn't know what they are doing. Before anyone says could I do better the answer is no, but then, I'm not an experienced or trained road works engineer or planner. Maybe the folk who created the mess aren't either? 1
