Not sure if there is a definition of when a crossing point becomes a zebra crossing. It certainly has some features , as you state,but not all. After taking a drive along the old prom yesterday, I have moved towards agreeing with you. The belisha beacons are the breaker for me so I now agree that these are zebra crossings. There are alternate crossing points it seems (every other one) that are just block paved 'changes of surface' and these are the ones I was mistakenly referring to. These are the ones that are supposed to encourage crossing. The crossings that we will now refer to as 'zebra crossings' do not meet the recommended standard as they have no zig zags nor stop lines, but the highway code defines a zebra crossing as having black and white stripes (our off white and grey is near enough maybe) and two belisha beacons So yes, they look like a duck so they must be a duck 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
