Ian is a professional who knows what he’s doing to be honest. He’s abrasive and can be hard work.  Robinson and Black appear to have been winging it.

He didn't know what he was doing when he ordered the cabbage. And how's the Mercedes HV dealership repair business going? Has it created any turnover, at all?

He's not just abrasive he's arrogant and rude, even to transport customers.

Anyone throw any light on a rumour heard today that the horse trams are only going to Sefton now and its Electric tram from there to Sea Terminal  ??  Or is it just assumptions still due to the heavier rails . Also another story flying around is all the rails have to come up and be replaced . Or is someone just being crooked and incredibly stupid . Source was not someone who spreads small talk though so making me wonder .

The rail is unused secondhand from the aborted Liverpool waters scheme. It is far too heavy for just horse cars but provided it was cheap enough that really makes no difference.

Apart from fitting overhead wires there would be no rational reason to limit the horse cars or electric cars to any section of the promenade.

The rails have been laid with the provision to run electric cars on them, notice the rail bonds on the very few fishplated joints but that makes some sense as the cost is minuscule to do so. The big cost is the trams and the overhead power lines.

Anything irrational is possible with the DOI though

A yes just what we need on Douglas prom, overhead lines with a pole every every fifty metres in the middle of the road. Judging by the amount of times the existing lines have been hit at the bungalow etc. (or by their own trams as happened at Ramsey recently)

Maybe we can stops named after the succesive ministers at the DoI sacrifieced to the project... Baker Street... Gawne Bank... Harmer Hill..

Funny how 7 years later the headline is still apt

There will be no poles, we will end up paying millions per tram to have them batteryfied!
