Promenade - Megathread

A general comment with all this fuss over roads and surface renewal. Just been past the Wessex garage and the road has just been resurfaced last few days . God knows what's going on with resurfacing these days but it's a disgrace . Standing water at the pedestrian crossing where clearly levels haven't been done correctly . And general poor workmanship. Clearly something is seriously wrong with DOI/Colas road works .

no liability, no fucks given,  the same halfwits that laid the road will be getting paid again to re-lay it again.

They are also replacing some of the bumpy bits of road in Santon with even bumpier bits at the moment.

Also I wonder if the prom would be so behind if Auldyn wasnt already massively overstretched doing the primary school up hy StNinians.

Seems to be a massive rush on up there to get things finished during half term with the prom slowing to a crawl again at the same time.

They really should have just got a big UK firm in to do the job. It would have been done by now!

It looks like the MyProm website has had an expensive makeover... mind you it's previous guise was pretty shite anyway...

https://www.myprom.im/

They also seem to have engaged some marketing consultants - https://www.boldconsultancy.com/myprom/

Because if the holy clusterfuck of MyProm needed one thing it was definitely more consultants!

Ex DFE marketing consultants employed by DFE presumably

Et voila...

Revisiting the artist impressions it becomes clear the intention is for there to be no kerbside, with the pavement and road being essentially the same level. This is why the tramlines appear so high at present. There is also a slight fall in the landside pavement which will be eradicated. Lovely in theory. Not so sure during a winter storm when surely waves will wash untroubled across the road, hit hotel etc walls and wash back? Or am I being daft?

It will be lovely. There as will be a nice mix of horseshit in the waves of water washing across the road round your feet and then down your steps and into your basement too.
