Revisiting the artist impressions it becomes clear the intention is for there to be no kerbside, with the pavement and road being essentially the same level. This is why the tramlines appear so high at present. There is also a slight fall in the landside pavement which will be eradicated. Lovely in theory. Not so sure during a winter storm when surely waves will wash untroubled across the road, hit hotel etc walls and wash back? Or am I being daft?

It is a cunning plan to BUILD THE WALL that got knocked back by planners earlier this year.

Broadway seemed fine this morning. No tailbacks and a not at all confusing road layout. Especially as none of the road markings were already wearing away. *

*some or all of this post may not be true

can you still turn right up Church Road to Finch Road?

It's all go on the prom.

It seems that, apart from a short section of the Esplanade, they've now managed to get the whole Promenade dug up, closed, or otherwise disrupted, without actually managing to finish a single bit of it!

Now that you've flagged it up they'll be on it ASAP. The promenade looks odd with that bit not dug up.

As of lunchtime no.

They also seem to be finally removing the bus stop by that junction so cars will no longer be routed straight into oncoming traffic.

It's all go on the prom.

please define your understanding of the word "go"...

And now Vic road to be closed for a fortnight to add to the chaos.

They're not real, are they? Having already caused the chaos that they have, they now propose to simultaneously close another route into the Island's capital and its major centre of employment. Has Putin taken over the DOI as an easier target than buggering around with other people's elections?
