Even once he’s gone (or if he goes looking at the above) he’ll probably still have a season pass and a special gold cushion he can sit on next to the driver. It would be interesting to know precisely what qualification he possesses to allow him to start getting involved with major input into our heritage railways, to include the horse trams. He came with a questionable history in respect of previous involvement with buses; how did that qualify him in respect of railway engineering other than making it his personal hobby set?

They offered Pluto the dog but he wasn't high profile enough for DOI. I find it hard to believe that Longworth hasn’t gone. The press releases last month said he was retiring. So why is he still here? Is he really allowed to stay on until September because he’s so important that we can’t find another unqualified idiot to go on the operators license? None would be my guess other than being able to convince people stupider than him that he is cleverer than them.

Kopek
There has been a young chap, 30s, shaddowing Longworth for some time. Could he not be stepped up temp if not permanently? May be that he is seen as too much in the LOngworth mould or HR don't like him!!! Still a solution does not seem unreachable?

Non-Believer
Govt HR needs a massive review. Bring in people who are capable of filtering out bullshitters and chancers attracted here by the Island's FORMER wealth and select people who are capable and willing to do the job. Although that may now be difficult given what they've been left to work with. Look at the record to date from these highly qualified HR "professionals", Longworth, Reynolds, Spake, Magson, even only recently and all the other chancers who have taken the dollar plus compo and left with mayhem in their wake. We have and are paying dearly for this department's incompetence. Edited July 30, 2022 by Non-Believer extra bit

The press release (which I noted at the time was unusually terse for this sort of thing) merely said that he "had announced his intention to retire" without saying when. So heavens knows how long he will hang on for. He certainly would have wanted to hang around so he could swan around at the 'Summer Transport Festival', maybe there will be more events he will hang on for. Edited to add: Apologies for too many uses of the word "hang" there. Or possibly not enough. Edited July 31, 2022 by Roger Mexico
