Lonan3
From Manx Radio - "Also included are events arranged by the Manx Transport Museum Group for the Peel made "P50" Microcars, including a cavalcade of vehicles along the town's east quay and promenade, from 4.00pm Sunday." Anyone going down to see these?
Lonan3
I don't know whether anyone bothered with this or not, but it really was an excellent afternoon out in Peel. Those little P-50s are fantastic - I'd forgotten just how tiny they were! They make today's 'smart cars' look enormous. There was also a display of veteran/vintage cars that was a joy to see. A couple of gorgeous Maseratis, E-type Jags, Rollers, beautiful old Rileys, Humbers and many others. It just provoked the thought that there was a time when cars had a genuine sense of 'character' rather than the nondescript lookalike that are churned out by today's manufacturers. All this plus glorious sunshine, the harbour alive with boats - and a decent bacon bap for only £1.50! What more could anyone ask?
