There were never any trees or diggers in the river and there was never any lack of landscape maintenance behind the flooding event. Signed, In flood conditions, in any catchment , you will get dead branches and fallen limbs coming down the river. No maintenance will make a difference. Its called nature. Any attempts to interfere end badly. Sure leaving diggers in the river is not good and falls into the same category of interference

Sure leaving diggers in the river is not good and falls into the same category of interference Yeah sure. Not a problem in a 'natural' river. But the river isn't natural anymore. The lower parts and the whole flood plain has been manipulated, constrained and built upon. Interfere downriver and you have to interfere up river.
