And now Sir Nige is about to split the leave vote and potentially but Corbyn in power.

You could not script this nonsense

I just think the folk will opt for a bit of old fashioned socialism and nanny state and then in a few years time it will swing again. I don't think it's Brexit now. It is what's in it for me.....Pay the Dole and the pension hire more police and boost the NHS basic stuff which the Toffs are not going to do and so we will I think get a result akin to the 1945 election..So many now rely full or in part on Benefits and the system is in a mess thanks to Tort Toffs. Bit of a surprise on the way especially for Boris the wannabe Winston. Anyway I find it hard to tell the difference between election candidates and the contestants on the Apprentice....But those types are the ones to get the votes if they make the right sort of noise.

So if a 'remain' parliament is returned following the GE can I assume that he and others like him will shut up about a betrayal of democracy?

There never was any democracy to betray just a big gamble by a Tory Toff that went badly wrong and now the system is being used to minimise the damage.

This poem entitled Bag Pipe music sums it up for me..

Well, I suppose Churchill was dumped in his finest hour too, so it should be no surprise to Boris to suffer the same fate as his idol.

He will split the leavers who want a "clean break" brexit and those who want a deal in place.

Farage could end up being the man who defeated the remain campaign and then went on to defeat the leave campaign!

Indeed. But it would leave his career and raison d'être intact. :)

Exactly.  What a nice coincidence it was for him to have Donald Trump on his LBC radio show criticising Johnson's withdrawal bill the day before launching the Brexit Party Ltd campaign, asking for a leave alliance with the Conservative party and for said withdrawal bill to be dropped.

I think you misjudge this one, Woody.

It's happened already in the Peterborough by-election. Between them Tory and Brexit had 17,000 votes. Labour won with 10,500.

You can say that it will be different in a General Election - but why would it be?

You can say that Boris will do better than May - but people are not stupid. They can see it's still the same deal and, if they can't, Farage is telling them in no uncertain terms how bad it is.

This is going to happen all over the country, letting in some Labour and definitely Lib Dems. Farage already has his excuse ready. He says that the deal is not Brexit, and if that is all that's on offer, he prefers to remain and start from scratch.

This is what makes the election so difficult to call. Nightmare for the bookies.

That's what I thought, but the bookies seem pretty clear at the mo that BoJo is going to be PM with a Tory overall majority.
