I think you’ll find it’s the younger people who have no grasp of what the real world is about and how hard people of previous generations have had to work to get what they’ve got. If you feel so hard done by why are none of you snowflakes doing anything about it? The 60s, 70s and 80s were full of riots and protests. Now people just seem to sulk on Twitter and get all bitter and twisted about their own parents or grandparents. Most people who grew up after the 1980s don’t seem to have learned how to take charge of their own lives.

Non-Believer
There's bigger fraud than that being committed by some of the salaries being pulled in Govt...

I think this is one of the biggest contributing factors to the seeming rise in young children who have no respect for anyone or anything (etc). When both parents have to work full time, the kids cannot possibly get the parental time and attention they need and deserve. Before anyone says "don't have kids you can't afford", very few would have kids then and society would die out. Maybe not such a bad idea though, considering what we're doing to the planet.

To put it simply, it's fraudsters like that who are quite possibly draining the system and preventing those that really need assistance. But hey, you and PK keep believing all is well with the benefits system...

There are people on benefits who still can't afford to eat properly because the benefits are too low.

A tiny handful of people falsely claiming amounts that are inconsequential to the overall budget (and getting caught) are not significant. And no, all isn't well with the benefits system. It doesn't go far enough.

How much are benefits now? Serious question. And how does it compare with working full time for minimum wage?

Depends which benefits you're on, and whether you have any other income. Minimum wage is too low 'n all.
Zarley
In addition to the fact that families can no longer afford to have one parent stay at home, they've also made it more difficult for the grandparents to step in and help with childcare due to the ever-rising retirement age.
