P.K.
Face it somebody, or in fact anybody, who has honesty and integrity would be a massive improvement on Bozo. Of course, I do realise that would preclude them from joining the modern tory party....

I'm no fan of the Tories at all, but in the long term they will realise the catastrophic self-inflicted damage they've caused by letting this bumptious clown lead the party that once boasted talent like Dominic Grieve and Rory Stewart, and they'll move to correct it. In fact, if you only needed one illustration of what a clusterfuck they've created it's the fact that Bozo leads a party that booted out Grieve. Quite incredible. (That and the fact of Max Hastings, Bozo's ex-boss and the most Tory Tory in the world, publishing a devastating critique last year setting out the multiple reasons why Bozo was unfit to lead the party). Hang on...talentless bumptious clown 'leading' a government...er.....
John Wright
We have seen all the complaints about hotels not refunding, and, initially, easyJet only offering free booking change or vouchers. However, credit where it’s due, to the Steam Packet. Getting refunded has been a doddle. Minoan/AFerry are still messing us about over a €50 euro credit due on 12 February. Each claim it’s the responsibility of the other. Missed a sailing. Caught the next day which was cheaper. Port office couldn’t process refund. Grimaldi. Port office sold ticket on 10/3 at 21.30. 22.00 Spain closed ferry/airport borders to arrivals from Italy who didn’t have Spanish residence or nationality. 22.15 refused boarding. 22.30 port ticket office refused a refund. Still refusing. Brittany Ferries took balance in late March, nearly £1000, today cancelled sailing on 17/5. They are playing the rebook or voucher game. There are two very angry FB groups. They’ve closed down the phone help line and their customer service e-mail, and hidden the form with the cash alternative deep in their web site
The Dog's Dangly Bits
I've alway found the Steam Packet excellent to deal with when changes etc are needed. I'm not a bit surprised you have a decent experience to talk about there. Edited May 9, 2020 by The Dog's Dangly Bits
wrighty
UK to introduce quarantine for incomers. Seems bizarre to think about it now when UK has probably got the highest viral load in the world, except for maybe the US. Closing the stable door after the horse has bolted has never been more apt.

Quite. But it would appear it will not come into effect for another three weeks: The measures are due to start in June. Travellers from the Channel Islands, Ireland and the Isle of Man will be exempt and it is understood key workers and lorry drivers bringing in goods would also be exempt from the requirements. P.K.
This made me wonder. How much was dictated from Downing Street? It would appear Bozo and his Bungling Brexiteers have been having a few words with Aunty about how they report Covid-19 fatalities. Like Bozo trying to make out things are going well in the UK with his fatuous "our apparent success" nonsense for comparison purposes they obviously figure it will be better if they left the EU ASAFP. Thousands are dying a horrible death and the tories are still trying to put a positive spin on their catastrophe.... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-52594570 Italy has become the first country in the European Union to register more than 30,000 coronavirus-related deaths. It reported 243 new fatalities on Friday - down from 274 the day before - taking the total to 30,201. The daily number of confirmed new cases fell slightly to 1,327, bringing the total number of infections to 217,185. Italy has the third highest number of officially recorded coronavirus deaths in the world, after the United States and the UK - which is no longer a member of the EU. Britain passed the 30,000 mark on Wednesday. Spain is Europe's third worst-affected country with more than 26,000 deaths.
Freggyragh
I was no fan of Corbyn, but with hindsight, nevermind what he promised for the NHS - his highspeed broadband for all policy would have been pretty good in a lockdown situation. Albert Tatlock
Total confusion in the UK following the Sunday night Boris broadcast. Wouldn't be surprising to see deaths reach 50K there within 6 weeks.
Uhtred
Although Bozo’s message itself was a confusing mess of contradiction, the reason for that is crystal clear; he’s attempting to mollify the Tory hawks who want the lockdown lifted as fast and as far as possible, whilst at the same time covering his arse against accusations of/the potential for further needless deaths due to a failure of government. He has an eye on the inevitable future Public Enquiry already.

manxman1980
It has Tory Party written all over it. You can go and see your boss in the workplace but you cannot go and see your Mum and Dad because that is far to risky!
Uhtred
Very bold statement by Raab this morning for people to use 'common sense' when it's totally clear that's a commodity in very short supply.
