Their demeanor during the Lynching only confirmed this. It could be worse - they could be like certain Ramsey Commissioners, publicly telling local businesspeople that they don't think that they should be in business. Following on, of course, from previously describing ratepayers as "c*nts".
swoopy2110
Had a look on the roundhouse website to see how much it was to book a badminton court. £20 an hour, and you only get 50 minutes of actual playing time as they use 10 minutes to set up / remove equipment. Seems expensive. I don't recall it used to be that much at the NSC when we used to go there.
Two-lane
The NSC website shows badminton at £12.20 peak and £6.10 off-peak. What happened to the days when badminton was played in the village hall?

I can take or leave Lamara to be honest but do find it funny how people love to slag her off then start whinging when she has a go back. Like football supporters who spend 90 minutes shouting obscenities then start crying if a player flicks them the v’s. 5

swoopy2110
Wow. That's a massive difference in cost. Hard to see why people would use it when it's that expensive. Edited May 3 by swoopy2110

Regardless of context, I don't feel that she should be making that sort of retort. Particularly when it's towards a businessperson whose BUSINESS RATES are contributing towards the Town Hall empire that she and her colleagues appear to be unable to monitor, let alone control. Roger Mexico
To get back to the Roundhouse, Chris Thomas had a pointed question in Keys today[1]: What vehicular access is permitted and available using the roads around Noble's Hospital to a) the hospital itself b) staff accommodation c) primary care facilities d) Braddan Roundhouse and e) other premises. The sound clip in the Manx Radio piece sounds weird because it just has Hooper repeating himself, but the context is that he was just reading out the same response to completely different questions from Thomas, Christian and Edge (already working as a team, I see). The full exchange is here: https://www.tynwald.org.im/playaudio?file=/business/listen/AgainFiles/O-202401-1363.mp3 It's quite clear from all that that Hooper doesn't really have CoMin backing for his hissy fit, but as ever Cannan is afraid to discomfort any top civil servants in any way and doesn't have the guts to intervene. It's also obvious that the legal advice is against the DHSC, but again they won't say so. It suggests that if they do go to Court the DHSC will lose expensively, possibly with Braddan and its tenants being able to claim all sorts of damages. Not that that would worry the DHSC bosses as it wouldn't be their money - as we've seen so often in the past.. [1] He had originally put a similar one down for answer by Cannan, but Cannan, with his usual bravery, insisted Hooper take the bullet. Fred the shred
Nobles car park is just a joke it is ridiculous much worse than usual yesterday cars approaching from all angles. Parking on yellow lines, absolutely everywhere. The only spaces empty were the electric car spaces. Something will have to be done before a really nasty accident happens. 2112
Today’s nonsense is brought to you by the DHSC, which is making a complete arse of things ………………… especially having the correct paperwork. From the NPM - An FoI revealed it can't provide evidence of legislation to stop people using the centre The Department of Health and Social Care doesn't have documents which confirm it can restrict vehicle access to The Roundhouse. Through a Freedom of Information request, submitted by the Local Democracy Reporting Service, the department hasn't been able to provide evidence of the legislation the department is using to stop people from going to the centre. In March, Braddan Commissioners was served with a 28 day notice to halt vehicles from going to The Roundhouse, an exception was made for staff, and a dispute has been ongoing about an access road. The DHSC says the land is privately owned and there is a 'public record' of the proof of ownership available.
