The point of the proposal was to allow the borrowing in the future should it be required. So far it has not. I think the ability to borrow the money was also part of the state of emergency act. Since that act is now defunct, the ability to borrow is also possibly defunct. The borrowing will be made very soon rest assured. It was not part of emergency powers. Whilst there are some residents who might have the wherewithal I doubt the rest of us would be able to fund even a 10th of that.

Cut your coat according to your cloth. Mr Skelly says "Businesses coming to Island 'must create jobs' https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/businesses-coming-to-island-must-create-jobs/ But if this is going to cost another £270,000.00 per job again. what is the point. Someone should ask ,how many of these jobs still exist, what was the benefit to economy was ?. Edited July 12, 2020 by Holte End

Businesses coming to the IOM must create jobs you’d think they’d have thought of that well before now?

Lol. Someone pulls you up for your BS and suddenly they work for DfE? Jesus...... Only a clown would think government shouldn't invest time and money into attracting business to the island. The concept of that is the right idea. Not everything will work all of the time. That's the nature of business. As for eGaming I can only assume you are blind as to how much growth there has been there. Sure, Stars are probably on an orderly wind down over the next five years but there has been plenty of other companies adding to the numbers here. Your original link also wasn't that one. Deary me....
