Literally the second paragraph:

A crucial piece of information, which is unknown at this stage, is what date phase 5c will start as much depends on the global situation.

I've made it nice and big as you obviously missed it first time.

All they have done is add another option to the policy of what they will do if the level of infection drops elsewhere.  There is no start date or even conditions that would automatically trigger the new regime.  All they have done is put some works down on paper.

If some people are unable to understand even the simplest written words, maybe moving to a testing regime, with its more complicated measures, isn't a good idea.

Yes but they will be discussing this point at their press conference on Friday and speaking to colleagues in Guernsey the expectation is early October

But at least they are words.

Wouldnt the new Guernsey rule create a backdoor for people to come here.

Like go to Guernsey from the UK . Get tested and if negative come to isle of man ?

Surely that’s fine though if they have the balls to do it? Then someone here can blame them if it all goes tits up rather than us being responsible for anything as progressive as testing people to see if they actually have the virus were all bricking it about?

Late 60's or so, opposite Mylchreests.

The reason why I asked is because when I first visited the Island almost 40 years ago there was a guy in Market Hall in Douglas who used to sell Levi seconds and he always told people they were from the Levi factory in Ramsey. I thought at the time that it was bullshit. But there you go.... it could have been true.

If you look at our plan, borders will be fully open, one day.

Guernsey media shouting bullshit because hoteliers are suffering helps nobody.

The actual problem seems to be the Channel Islands politicians (and many of the islanders themselves) wanting to live in the land of reality. Not in the imaginary island of Brigadoon where everything is going to miraculously recover as long as we pretend our borders are still closed.

They were still there in the late 80's. I believe Transmann used to collect and deliver their goods

Comin have been clear. They couldn't have been clearer. https://covid19.gov.im/news-releases-statements/chief-ministers-statement-on-covid-19-30-july-2020/

"At today's meeting of Council of Ministers it was agreed that Government would work on building  capability and capacity in order to potentially introduce a seven day self-isolation and testing regime.  I must stress that any date for introducing the change will be dependent upon infection rates in the UK and other jurisdictions.  It is currently proposed that this will be further reviewed at the end of August".

We're now getting close to review time. The signs aren't positive though with spikes in the UK and rises elsewhere.

But the world has moved on and so should we, Channel Islands in same position as us and they have updated plans and moving forward .

also our last update was well before Guernsey moved to 7 days and putting in plans for 1/2 days quarantine and Jersey 7 weeks successfully testing all arrivals.

No they have not. Jersey, for some countries, including the uk currently allow the test on arrival. Guernsey have proposed a similar test on arrival from the same countries followed by (assuming a negative result) seven days semi isolation and a second test.

Isolation on both islands is mandatory, just like here, but Jersey has over 20 active cases, including four more yesterday. Most are from testing on arrival a couple are from track and trace and one from seeking medical advice. In other words the community. It is only a matter of time until it spreads.

Stop posting lies again, Jersey have 11 active cases and none is hospital and isolation is not mandatory in Jersey unless you come from an amber or red country similar to UK. Guernsey now is 7 days isolation and one test , not 2 as you made up,under next phase will move to 1/2 days isolation  if test on arrival negative. jersey figures below from official source not your made up one

Total tests

74014

Pending test results

1994

Total negative tests

71652

Total confirmed positive cases

368

Known active cases

11

Known direct contacts of active cases

74

Total recovered
