Is it wrong that it changed the world forever - how many people die every day from starvation, for comparison? Or is the comparison simplistic - like the Covid 19 comparison? But did 9/11 change the world forever? It certainly did, temporarily, but how would you say it did forever?

Basic freedoms mostly from my privileged perspective. How we used to be able to live. Have you tried turning up at an airport 15 mins before departure lately. And jumping on a flight even though you haven't got ID? The rise of the security state etc.

It's Cold War era terminology. Investopedia defines the term as offensive. It is a term that is frequently used, and is incorrect, but that is perhaps not being aware of the moving dynamics of international economics rather than intent to be offensive.

Good; it is the beginning of the end. IOM borders are likely to re-open in mid spring. And they won't be compulsory: Minister for vaccine development Nadhim Zahawi has rowed back on his claims about immunity passports, telling SpectatorTV 'there will not be an immunity passport. Sadly theres no such thing as manx citizenship. The Aussies are allowing citizens back regardless of their current domicile but they only get one shot. No visits permitted.

Perhaps you understand the difference between one country of 25 mio people, the size of a continent; and an island of 85,000 souls, which is an independent jurisdiction rather than an independent country. The whole IOM border policy should have been informed by that reality.
Nom de plume
Great to see gigs restarting in Liverpool in addition to fans being allowed back into stadiums (myself a season ticket holder at a club in the North West). Things certainly on the mend it seems.
