Wouldn’t the Villa Marina have offered ample space to have a waiting room, treatment area and post waiting room.

What, you mean a building with disability access, parking, toilets and even refreshment facikitkes, easy access for taxis and that wouldn't need any modification other than a few signs to implement a one way system that the government pwn and manage?

Give over, just convert a scabby old shop at great expense instead.

BJs conference is interesting.  Testing and border restrictions finally being implemented but nowhere near as severe as ours

This tells you a lot about the mind sets. The DoI's first response is how expensive can we make this and how long can we take to do it. Ashford doesn't need the embarrassment of vaccination centres on a 2 day week so thinks they are doing a great job...for him.

What should be the first and foremost consideration of how fast can we get adequate functioning centres up and running so we can increase the vaccination rate for the benefit of the population does not even get a look in. It's too ridiculous to even consider this is what they think they are actually doing.

And the one person that can take the two departments and knock heads because its not good enough?  Demand the centres are up and running in a week and the vaccination rate is maximised in line with supply? Stop using paperwork as an excuse to use a vaccine that the UK has already used hundreds of thousands of or why an eighty year old is told they have to wait another month for a vaccination !!!!

He stands there trying to look important and pretending that everything possible is already being done. Because the alternative is too hard for us and you lot are just not worth the effort.

by converting the shabby old shop they have a reason to hand over  funds to somebody in the team.

I wonder if they're getting the timber from DEFA...? Might be a bit of a job waking the saw mill bods up...

4 x 2 and plasterboard sounds like it might be worryingly permanent.

Don't worry DOI will design and build another airport and put it somewhere.... anywhere.

STOP. Don't give them any ideas.

They've been wanting to build a new £120m airport for some time. I can already seeing the case being made and the old airport building become a Southern Hospital.

That's pretty much it.  As for the parking at the Villa, as well as some on site, I believe there's a large multi-story car park very near.  What's it called again?

But of course the Villa isn't run by DoI (it's DESC) and the DoI will only do things, not for the greater good or government as a whole, but that benefit itself.  Rather than ask the DHSC what facilities are needed, they will just produce what suits them and everyone else will have to lump it.  Rather like they decided that the Hospital suddenly need lots of security guards when they had the rail staff sitting around doing nothing.

On the heart attack lady, could I postulate that what has happened is the clinicians have answered the question "does the patient require medical assistance whilst at home?"  To which the answer would be "no".

Perhaps the question should be "should the patient have support at home to assist?".  Would the answer be different?

Precisely. It's only a 'clinical decisions' because of a law that politicians introduced.

Absolutely not a problem before Christmas. I doubt those asked the questions would be aware of the severity of their answer.

Especially not in Liverpool.

Do Ministers not have the power to overturn decisions, even if it is made by professionals? For example, Planning Inspectors decisions have been overturned by the Minister or indeed their depity.
