They will have to also take into account the bed and staff situation at Nobles and around.

The issue is still not to overwhelm the hospital  and community services.

Good job there’s no one in hospital with COVID then and a lot of vulnerable vaccinated

We are by their chart into the territory of social distancing and masks.

But it’s okay, it’s “not in the community because we know where it came from...”

Anyone know if the 7 day average based on New cases or active cases? Doesn't appear to be a number they record on the website either way...

There’s practically zero possibility that the powers that be received that news at anywhere near 23:25 hrs last night and sent out the press release straight away. 99% likely they got it in the evening sometime and dwelt on it to decide exactly what to say, so not to panic people over the obvious community transmission (as well as darken their champion virus fighting reputations...).

Why is there zero chance?

It'll be off the back of waiting on test results.  Which came through late.  And were acted on as soon as practically possible.

If you look at the 4pm figures yesterday, they were awaiting results for 1.

There’s a chance that could have been the case that was announced. In the circumstances, you can understand why they’d be wanting to re-confirm that result.

Or, the person called, and it was deemed prudent under the circumstances to test them ASAP rather than during normal hours.

Possibly.  This mental thought process that they knew about it ages before and just released it near midnight is bizarre.

Howie will look a bit stupid if he has to announce a lockdown tonight just as Boris is announcing easing of lockdown in UK at same time!! That’ll be the gong gone😂

Which is why he will do everything humanly possible to avoid another full lockdown, even if he has to add some new words to the lexicon.

The document points to a rolling 7 day average as being the trigger, but I get your point.
