That they can remember / want to admit to...so incredible scientific and nailed on, all this tracing malarkey...

Considering some of the clowns out there (who can forget fugitive re-entering the island and signed his real name when using fake ID) and the sentences handed down, you are going to admit to breaking the rules?

After all if it can get in on the boat once...

The public clearly do want a witch hunt over the SPC though. No question. This is affecting so many people now. It just sends out the message if you’re the public the penalty for any covid breach no matter how trivial = jail, if you’re government the penalty even if you shut the IOM down = nothing.

Oh and by the way.... if you're in the construction industry = carry on as if nothing has happened.

People have clearly ignored the isolation rules and are lying about who they have had contact with - genomics would find this out but our government are too pompous to accept the LIFE SAVING opportunities they have been offered. Wankers!

But of course. Look at it as an opportunity to shut down smaller & domestic construction jobs where social distancing isn't possible and maybe they'll come work for the big important greenfield developers coz we are all about the environment & sustainability.

Our government is green in only one way and its not the environment.

Yes, starting at the SPCo. But then rules aren't always rules are they.

Honestly, I wouldn't even put it down to malice on the part of individuals.

It could literally be popping for a coffee and promptly forgetting all about it. Or not being able to place which day you were in a certain place etc.

If the SP was to blame, do you think they would be trying to "move on"?

The government is to blame

No action taken when concerns were raised about IoM and UK crew mixing in January

Complete balls up regarding IoM crew self isolating

No testing of all crew when the UK crew member tested positive

No enforcement or checking of supposed isolation rules when said UK crew member tested positive

Complete free for all despite people catching covid IN A CAFE

There are probably others....

And, amazingly, even though they provide the only lifeline service the crew were not even in the first batch for vaccination.

The track and tracing is only as good as people's memory and willingness to say every where they have been.  What strikes me is that there are quite a few teenagers seemingly, some of whom may prefer not to say that they were in a certain place or with certain people for fear of getting in trouble with their parents.  You know, forbidden from knocking around with X because he or she is a bad influence but great fun so they have met up.

Lots of chuffing, conspiracies and anger here, you'd almost think that people believe that our government wanted this to happen! They've been trying to keep us as normal as possible for crying out loud.

Something has gone wrong, the first is due to SPC crews somehow mixing when they shouldn't have, compounded by what appears to have been an unworkable isolation plan. There is a responsibility here, which someone should hold their hands up to, but I agree that prosecuting individuals who are doing a job to preserve our lifeline is counter productive!

We need to find the weak link and cause of the second outbreak though, that will probably end up being linked to our transport links as it's bound to be. What's the answer, stop sailing/flying anything in?

I think we need to grow up, yes it's bollocks but we either live with it until everyone is vaccinated, or we continue to lock down every time we have half a dozen cases!

Emergency services haven’t had vaccinations yet either (and aren’t scheduled to, unlike the boat crew) and yet they have had to deal with Covid infected (some possible/potential) people regularly. Yet DOI worker filling in holes had theirs weeks ago.

HQ addressing Tynwald. Hoping to ramp up vaccination. Questions now about prioritising vaccination of handling crew at SP and airport from Quine. And vaccinations lagging now.

Question about why IoMG's view of genomic tracing varies so differently from the rest of the world, including UKG and USCDC. Howard says he's not an expert....and dodges it.
