Lol. Do you know anyone who has used a travel agency this century? Do they even still exist.

Even the elderly cruise ship demographic are online now.

I know several people who use travel agents. One of them is computer illiterate and therefore off-line, but the rest aren't. They just like the personal service.

The CM statements on Covid presumably including exit plan are after lunch as just finished questions.

You are right re government facilities, the Villa gardens are not reopening until Friday but seems lots of them in there doing some power hosing as I walked along, WTF have they been doing for 7 weeks?

They have lunch?

Ah ok, didn't realise it was 1992, I assumed they would crack on with sandwiches or a dominoes delivery (local pizza places are available) like the last three places i have worked would do.

Lunch - how quaint.  Do they still have cups of tea with saucers like in the town hall?

Staying at home?

Going to the beach and the glens more like it.  Lunch out etc etc

While the private sector were updating websites and policies, planning marketing, continuing to work, decorating premises, doing stock takes, clearing warehouses, researching new products and revenue streams, negotiating with suppliers, doing online training to better themselves.  Cleaning carpets etc etc

The main difference being those in government were on full pay while they sat on their arses while those in private sector who were working to try and improve their businesses for when they reopened were largely getting no income.

IOM is listed by IATA as an origin/destination. No need to worry about that. The issue, as you say, is ensuring the various handling companies along the chain will be up-to-date with the transit protocols in due course.

Not on the TIMATIC website! Try the form and check the drop down!

Destination is different to country or jurisdiction with separate entry requirements. And of course, Covid excepted, IOM entry is no different from UK.

Its all got a bit messy, again. Not unlike pre Slovakia being in EU, pre Schengen We had a Slovak guest. Single entry visa waiver to UK including IOM. We went to Dublin, issue leaving Dublin. We had to go to Passport office/immigration to allow a trip to Madrid and back.

The bad old/current days.

I haven't looked on the website but I suspect that either an airline, a government body or a tourist body needs to add IOM to the list. I think TIMATIC is an opt-in application rather than by right. Could be wrong.

Well, if you want to travel abroad with less hassle and someone doing the research for you, this could be the way this year. Next year you can go back to El Cheapo Airline and find your own bloody way thru customs!!!

Outside workers including gardeners have been back for weeks , well non government workers anyway!

They need time to adjust.

One cannot simply emerge from ones bunker and rejoin life & work at a normal pace.

A civil servant must ease there way back in over several months, perhaps years. The mere thought of a resumption to working hours has many signed off with stress.

Give them time, go easy on them.

Take them on next week, full pay until we open up next year.

It’s how we roll.

It's in 'North-West England' too.  Clearly the Liverpool Dock is so expensive because they're going to tow the whole Island there .
