You are very patronising. You obviously don't know how pubs work these days. From about 11:00am, they are serving coffee and cakes to older people at a vast mark up. Lunchtime comes and there are plenty of people out for a bite and paying a lot for it. Don't forget, vat on food has been dropped to 5%. But you have not seen food prices drop, have you? Drive past the Shore in Gansey any lunch time, any evening and the place is packed.

Yes , some places are struggling. There are always places that struggle. But the main reason for this is the need for change.

Coffee & cakes in pubs FFS , well Albert, rovers, woody, blind pig , saddle to name a few in Douglas don’t,  none in port Erin, PSM or castletown or Laxey as far as I know so where are these busy cake pubs??

Shore in gansey is busy but doesn’t do cake & coffee before 12.

No idea but breaking news has just popped up on my phone that the UK has had 3,000 positive tests the highest for months so the media aren't letting it go

That puts the 14day infection rate up to 50:sweat:

Highest daily number since 9th April

When will stop reporting cases, tests and the like?

The gov twitter feed (and I assume fb) has recently changed its reporting, where it used to put all the information out on a tweet it now directs you to their website. So the information is still available but less in your face. What the press does with it is up to them.

They (gov) can't stop reporting on cases yet, it's still too new, and surveillance needs to continue. If there is another disease spreading about they warn you, be it winter norovirus or measles or mumps. That's where we're going with this one ultimately, hopefully, when due to mass vaccination it becomes mostly a mild endemic cold bug.

Sure, some pubs have not sussed the market yet.

Non in Port Erin? The Station and the Falcons Nest do.

In fact, the Falcons Sunday carvery is now three sittings, where it used to be two, because it is so popular.

This is true. Because we have the virus virtually eliminated, and the uk are doing well, does not mean that this is not still a pandemic.

It is rather amusing that all the tory questioning is deliberately trying to undermine Cummings because the UK pandemic story is so bad they know it's the only shot they've got.

No doubt in PMQ's today Bozo will mention the vaccination program as often as he can (but not the Vaccination Task Force brainchild of Vallance, the Loggies doing all the heavy lifting and the NHS with their kick-in-the-teeth 1% payrise putting jabs in arms) because it's the only success in this whole sorry mess. The more he mentions it the more he hopes the hard of thinking will associate him with it and not those who actually deserve the credit.

Tomorrows headlines in the UK's rabid right wing press in thrall to the agenda of the owner, which is to say pretty much all of it, should be worth a good laugh...

Cummings is a Will-o'-the-Wisp character but I prefer the scottish equivalent of Spunkie.

Data not dates, although will will ignore the fact that Indian variant is not the issue they feared it might be, cases aren't really rising, people aren't sick and people aren't ending up dead.

Station don’t, falcon nest is a hotel/restaurant not a pub so no others of the many you say 😂
