I'm not sure there is a desire within government to chase these cases. More a desire toforget they ever happened. They spent the last 2 weeks going out of their way to stress there was no evidence linking any of these cases to the boxing day 1886 one. And thats the way they'd like it to stay.

And there's a very good reason for that!

Jersey has similar geographics. Look at them.

Why is our population in general prepared to do what was asked of them? (I would suggest it is the way the government has handled things, being open and transparent)

I don’t think they have managed to “Fuck it up” I think they have done rather well considering. OK with hindsight a few decisions may have been different but that is true of every jurisdiction

Correct! Jersey's economy has a massive tourist based element. Although it only forms a small part of the financial side of their economy, from an employment point of view it is massive. Iom does not have that issue.

Our government is spot on in their vaccination strategy.

It is a marathon, not a sprint!

This is absolutely ridiculous!

Madness.

You are offering 80 000+ people on this Island a golden opportunity to get ahead of the game and one/two/three? men are not allowing it to happen?

I'm raging. Absolutely raging.

But it wasn’t  that clear cut was it. Maybe ALL the cards should be on the table. Then views may change.

I'm certainly not keen on a covid surveillance app on my phone, I hate the idea, but if it helps, its got to be better than this shit.

And therein lies the rub.

We've had a taste of 'freedom' and want it back, so much.

Vaccination is only ever going to be an ongoing short term 'sticking plaster' fix.

Anyway, the world is a basket case. The Isle of Man could become an oasis: Test before you come here, 2 weeks isolation - which would not have to be at all unpleasant - and then play golf foursomes, dancing on the tables in a crowded 1886, fighting bouncers at Jaks, and going shopping in a Shoprite supermarket without a mask and social distancing.

Etc.

A pre-Covid theme park. The Isle of Man could be back up there like it was for most of the 20th Century.

Maybe the Howie 'Brigadoon' analogy isn't so silly after all.

The luck we had to land in the position we did. The geographics, a population in general prepared to do what was asked from them, a genetic specialist, even a machine was found under dust sheets. Yet somehow they still managed to fuck it up, unreal.

It's going to make a great movie though. I'm going for:

Samuel L Jackson -  Howard Quayle
Matt Lucas - David Ashford

About 80 percent of that post could actually work and would have been a great idea

So it is better to just read locations out on the radio a few days later.

Truth bar.  It wouldn't have been better to ping everyone who was there an alert and tell them they had to stay home than rely on them to phone 111?

M&S this week. Better to announce the whole store is low risk for a half hour period than to just ping a notification to the 20 or 30 people who were actually close to the person?

Really?

After all the "high risk" warnings about the Truth bar incedent not a single positive case out of the 130 odd people who were there.

Thanks Ashie, no one believes our strategy is spot on when over 80s are waiting until mid /late February for first vaccinations . Anyone heard of an over 80 being vaccinated yet ?

Rachel has tried every which way to re-offer her services. This last tweet wasn't the first time she's reached out. Government has made it very clear they do not want her to be involved.

I want her to be involved. Not because I don't like the government, not because I don't trust the government, Not because I want to see her 'win' and them lose, not because she's my mate or my old school friend or because she posts on here and seems like a bloody good egg.

I would like her to be involved because what she's offering is something very very special for the Island. Something we may, should things get worse, help us to plan a way out of it.

After two weeks these crucial test results still haven't come back,  Today, Dr Ewart said she would 'chase them up'.  Chase them up FFS?

Rachel is saying she could have had the results turned around in one day.

Just to remind you.  This is a pandemic.  We are not exempt, sea or no sea.  It's is now spreading and we have a world class expert offering to assist.

They may not be listening to her but they could very well listen to us if enough of us made our voices heard.

I'm willing to stick my head over the parapet. By tweet, by email, to HQ - to the lot if necessary.

This is a ridiculous state of affairs folks.  We're being held to ransom here by some people's egos.  This is NOT in the best interests of the Island. Not in the slightest. Time to make our voices heard.

Although they're all to arrogant to take notice.

Sorry Roxanne but that is not necessarily correct. Wrong genders for start I hear.

OK Roxanne.

Snowman - yes, personalities have played to much of a part. So have personal reputations and ambition and internal politics.

Equally sure there are some who would like to move on.

Some are moving on.

The policy is elimination by vaccine. Another gamble.

As they say, gongs all round.
