This is real facepalm stuff.  We're in a situation that looks like it was caused by failure to test everyone co-isolating together.  So what do they do?

So someone could have caught Covid at Truth, developed a mild, non-symptomatic case, passed it on to others in their family, but then cleared it from their system by Day 13.  And the others would be released into the community to unknowingly spread it, reassured that they were all clear.  Lessons never seem to be learnt - even if they were only given last month.

I haven't seen lessons learned in 30 years so to expect them to be learned in a month is stretching things !!

Just been watching some coverage from the state capital of Virginia, Richmond. Looked initially like the National Guard were on security duty.

They weren't, it's local militia groups, all uniformed and armed to the teeth protesting about their gun rights and Trump's "unfair election result".

Look, its clear that for whatever reason (good or bad) they're not going to use Saint Rachel's services. Can we please move on? This shit is getting as boring and repetitive as fucking Guernsey.

If it was a personal relationship then i'd agree, let it go. But it isn't. Just because howie and ashie don't want to answer specific questions then i don't.

I asked this a few pages ago and I think it was wrighty who replied saying that PCR would still be positive at day 13 in this scenario even if they'd beaten the infection. However, to my mind, they should have adopted the "travelling" testing regime and tested all the household at day 8/9 and again at day 13...  After all, these are people who we knew were in contact with a covid carrier whereas we don't know that with travellers so would seem to me to be a known higher risk. Better to have to do a few more tests than to have to extend lockdown...

Howard knows this how exactly? He can't have decided this on his own as he has no idea and 'follows the science' so it can only be Dr Ewart and team who would put that idea into his little head?

At one point @rachomicswas being hailed as a leading expert by government and we were lucky to have her expertise, what has changed? By the slow delivery of results from the UK, it would seem that they really don't want to have the information provided by an independent person as if it were leaked, it interferes with their hard won control over the Manx people?

What changed was....”We believe that our current copyright dispute surrounding specialist software the DHSC failed to license from us is the reason why they will not use our services, despite the obvious advantages to working with us rather than against us”. This also means that the government would rather send tests across for a two week turnaround rather than the 36(?) hours the on Island lab can produce. Oh, not to mention spending all that money off Island...

Putting pride before a fall, methinks....

You would have thought by now that they would have stopped making the hole on the Dr Glover issue they're digging any bigger. But no, someone in the Manx equivalent of SAGE has a real hard-on over this debacle. Actually the longer this goes on the funnier it gets.

You've answered it yourself. There are rules about murdering people. Or dealing drugs. Or speeding in your car.

er....when did all this come in ? No-one told me.

Best go and wash hands then.

Just think of the progress that could be made if they employed this civil engineering enthusiasm on the Prom...
