IOM Covid removing restrictions

Lord knows what daft decisions have been made on advice.  Advice depends on the question asked and if you get conflicting advice are you forgiven for following the wrong advice?

The Trump documentary last night was very interesting.  After Iran shot down a US drone the NSC  precisely followed the model decision-making process and resolved that a targeted attack on Iranian military targets was justified.

Trump cancelled it within minutes of launch because an unnamed lawyer came to him and raised doubts about possible Iranian fatalities.   So, all the experts, following the exact protocols were overruled by a decision outside of those protocols.

Rox, we clearly have different views for what constitutes investigative journalism. Dickhead has simply tweeted something he was told and will say that any panic is the Government's fault. It is simply lazy journalism and he's probably at home know knocking one out over the number of retweets he's getting. Definitely not investigative in any way.

To be fair it is usually the government that causes panic through their inaction and incompetence in certain situations. They have a knack for blaming the journos or the man next door or anybody else they can think of except themselves.

Unless there’s unknown community cases there should be no lockdown, just ridiculous to even consider one. Probably getting pushed by public sector who want another few weeks on full pay at home.

My god , you are so very annoying

Interesting that research about the vaccine says it reduces symptoms and spread, but clearly doesn’t stop either completely.

Vaccines aren’t the solve all solution that everyone thinks they are. This premise applies to all vaccines & viruses. Unfortunately COVID is more damaging to human health than things like the common cold.

That is before we talking about different strains and how vaccines become out of date very quickly.

Globally there has to be a change of mentality to a more humble existence, which the IoM generally displays and that is one of the factors behind our generally sound response to COVID.

One of our main problems is the UK response to COVID and our close proximity to England.

Obviously some people think that 'proper' journalism is just repeating whatever appears on a government media release as closely as possible.  Mind you there's enough of that around, that you can see how people get fooled.

This is real payback for Quayle's triumphant series of appearances on TV, isn't it?  Not that he will learn anything from it, as we can see by there being no announcements till 6 pm.  Maybe he thinks we ought to give the virus a head start, public school sporting values and all that.  More likely the delay is while the Comms Team pen another of those rambling, unclear 'statements' full of folksy 'jokes' that Quayle will read out while giving the impression that he's never actually encountered any of those words before.

85K people are a lot easier to control than 66 Million.

I think it will be just the usual hyperbowl.

I was going to suggest that, if we've got a cluster I can feel the gloating from the C.Is and elsewhere already.
