Actually it's quite difficult (though not impossible) to get fingerprints off a brick.

DNA on the other hand is more useful.  Genomics always wins.

Regarding the SP isolation issue, you may recall that there have been issues over the past couple of months with people complaining that they can no longer go across to pick up new pets. until early December, people could travel to Heysham to collect a new puppy, etc., and return without isolating as it was seen as safe if they did not leave the restricted area and had little to no contact with uk people. That was banned. However, it was basically an extension of the SP crew agreement.

Thing is: if SPco staff were indeed supposed to act just like all other key workers but didn't, and if some welders went to prison for stopping by Tesco, then if the same rules and standards are applied, we would indeed have to build a new linkspan in Jurby, complete with barbed wire and sky tv. However, my suspicion is that the investigation will end with the uncovering of a "communication error" which keeps the steamy staff out of the slammer (good, as it seems there might indeed be a chance they were given wrong info, and knowing the guys who work on the Ben - having been one of them in the past - I'm sure they would not to anything to risk the wellbeing of people on the IOM) and unfortunately will fail to identify any particular individual who screwed up. In the end it will be another case of "lessons have been learned, let's move on". Happy to take bets on this outcome.

And so the nations ferry slowly turns into another government turd, is there not one thing that this government has anything to do with that show's it in a positive light. But it is run at arms length I hear you cry, but it is still a government department after all said and done and the buck stops at the varnished door of the big white house on the hill. Going to have to get a bigger horse and cart to shift all the shite that is accumulating, Lucky enough they have a load of them sitting around with the prom being so resplendently refurbished. But going to take another 7 years due to covid blah blah blah de blah

Interesting viewpoint I heard last night over the legal perspective in this.

All subject of course to the Cabinet Office paperwork submitted to the IOMSPCo & content contained within.

Those already jailed for isolation breaches & having a prison sentence on their records may well be rather miffed & feeling rather let down by the system.

Well if they try to enforce this isolation policy for crew the union will be involved and possibly industrial action and island will be screwed

No, but if you get your window smashed, you also have a compulsion to go round throwing your own bricks through other people’s windows. But, you don’t know you’ve had a brick through your window for anything between 2 and 14 days. 
 

When you’ve had that brick through your window, you get a compulsion to start throwing bricks through other people’s windows, even before you’ve found the brick through yours. Just an overwhelming urge that overtakes you. You might never know you’ve had a brick through your window. 
 

So, you have an epidemic of brick throwing. You want to find out who started throwing the bricks, why they started throwing the bricks, and whose windows they threw them at. 
 

What you don’t know, is whether A remembers everyone whose windows they threw bricks at, nor without going to look, how many windows were broken. 
 

But, Mrs Jones suddenly finds that she’s being overtaken by this brick throwing urge. She hasn’t had any bricks thrown at her windows that she knows of, but, it turns out, she has the compulsion too. 
 

Now, finding out quickly who threw the brick at her, means you know whether there are any unknown brick throwers, or it turns out Mrs Jones bumped into your original brick thrower in the pub. 
 

Of course, the sooner you unmask any unidentified brick throwers, the quicker we can go back to normal and let people go out and about, rather than staying home to deter brick throwers.

I would guess that the Steam Packet received a document that stated what their seamen were supposed to do from gov. That document would have been so badly thought out and totally impractical to implement in their circumstances they ignored it.

If gov told returning resident you have to isolate in a tent at the end of the iron pier in Ramsey who would? Same sort of thing but on a grander scale.

The cabinet office thinking they are ALL POWERFUL would not have bothered to check up their mad rules were being followed because in their arrogance they would think everybody does as they tell them to..............
