IOM Covid removing restrictions

It's that it might tie to specific cases in the cluster and you then re-examine the itineraries of those involved to see where the actual contact might have been, trace other contacts and so on. Things are more under control.   Alternatively it might show no link to any of them and you panic.

Genomics today or three or five days  makes no difference to what happened today.

Without the earlier announcement from PM I doubt they would have taken the action. It's a bit of a do when businesses are having to make the decision themselves without an official announcement.

It's the pattern we've seen every time - quicker and more responsible responses from private businesses than from the government.  How many times have we been informed of the need for contact tracing by the places concerned ahead of the official list?  Though in this cases it was clear that even within the public sphere the word had spread - places like the Museum were shut well before 3pm for example as well as some shops.

But it's clear that all this could have been done Friday night or first thing today.  Presumably this was to allow time for Quayle to do his Leader of the Nation act.  Or maybe Mrs Q had a hair appointment she didn't want cancelled.

Simply because NOTHING happened today. A genomic result either way could determine whether SOME action needed to be taken as opposed to suggestions and voluntary self imposed restrictions. Today was a shambles, when it either could’ve been avoided altogether, or looked a hell of a lot more professional.

Nothing to laugh about though is there.  If you are self employed ( like me) then you need a cushion to protect you in situations like this.what is hard to understand about future proofing your income. Taking the moral high ground does not pay the bills.

To be fair different people different circumstances dilli.  Fairly insensitive stuff that.

So, just to get this right, as I must be missing something.

We currently have a problem, as we don't know how our 2 new cases got the virus.

Contact tracing may not identify that link.

Currently, the approach might just turn into wait a couple of weeks to see if any more come up.

However, what if we can find out who they caught it off of, and use that to focus contact tracing's efforts? Or is that just a silly idea?

Correct.  It's a silly idea.  Let it go FFS.  It's like a cult.
