Good god, talk about car crash TV/ Radio

Caught red handed lying and still tried to bluff.

It takes a very intelligent person to be a good liar, therein lies their problem.

An intelligent person with a good memory.

Interesting that they are saying 14% of tests are coming back positive. Total tests since the last update has gone up by 760, so 14% = 106 likely to be positive. Not sure how many are officially still waiting test results from those 760 tests but maybe that's what they are basing it on. But if that is the case, DA didn't explain it very well... (as usual)

You might be onto something there, so perhaps Tynpot heard the projected figures rather than actual positive tests received?

Only 1 awaiting a result?  I know of one who was tested yesterday afternoon and still no result.  Wonder if they are the one?

a family member was tested earlier today and won't get the result till tonight so it must be them.

Howard was very much on the backfoot today IMO.

That's what happens when stupid people with no talent are given responsibility by cynical people with no backbone.

The daily figures haven't been published yet. The GOV feed says the numbers given at the briefing will be updated later today. It took them until 6pm yesterday.

Okay so the schnapshot of 56 was from 3.25pm, does that mean the 56 were from this morning and the afternoon figures hadn’t been compiled yet? In which case why doesn’t Ashford just say he hasn’t had this afternoon figures back yet?

Ashford said something to the effect that the numbers he gave were confirmed test results. Perhaps the missing 52 test are being frantically rerun in the vain hope they are false positives?

Indeed. I suppose they are doing tests throughout most of the day and the results coming back in batches. The tent was still open for business when I drove past at 3.30pm.

But he must have had them back if he briefed government with a different, larger number before the plebs' briefing. He didn't actually deny the 108 number, he just said the additional tests weren't confirmed.
