Which implies intelligence.

This is where most of the conspiracy's  on here fall down.

Exactly basically they’re far too stupid to lie and concoct false stories to hoodwink people with. Conspiracy theories are a useless waste of energy.

And now we know its 110 cases "today" and people don't want to question it or the crappy vaccines?

Good for them.  I would rather have some faith that the civil servants  advising the farmer and former barman knew what they were doing and were bring honest with us.

“Crappy vaccines” Could you explain further?

So, we are just dealing with common or garden incompetence.

There was an organisation affiliated to the UK Gov that went bankrupt in the mid 70s, it was the biggest bankruptcy in UK history.  Naturally there was an inquiry and the main takeaway was that there was no criminality, just incompetence. There were those that thought it was "a result".

Are the current numbers now on the predicted trajectory of last years 'likely uncontrolled progression' thanks to Ashie being cautious and Howie going in hard and fast (an image that can never be unseen)

No we haven't.

Give HQ his due we are testing way more people so we get way more cases.

There were more cases than that last tine we just didn't know about them (we did, but not officially)

It isn't unreasonable that they're wanting to validate results that may be positive. My understanding is that negatives are much clearer than potential positives.

But my point was they didn't say 54 (or more) tests awaiting results or awaiting validation or whatever.  They said those tests were completed and didn't include them in the cases or awaiting categories so they are implied as negative.

Now I could accept some confusion coming from Ashford and Quayle if they were just reading out the figures and had no knowledge of the true situation.  But they must have known about the estimated number of cases of over 100 because every other member of Tynwald did.  So they could at least have queried it.

And we still don't really know what the true situation is.  Are these Sunday's figures?  Sunday and Monday?  What was the actual timespan (in terms of when tests were taken) that applied to previous 'daily' figures?

As you said there a lot of incompetence here, but there also has to deliberate misleading as well, both to cover up incompetence and make the situation look better.

Actually being stupid is never a condition that stops people engaging in conspiracies - especially if they don't realise how stupid they are.  Their stupidity just makes it easier for other people to work out what is happening.

They knew the estimated final number (after verification, re-tests, other checks) and they were really upfront about it in the briefing. The 56 was at 3;45 ONLY there were going to be other cases that would be verified before they closed for testing today @ 8pm. From 39:50 onwards.

This is complete bollocks

No that seems to be true if you listen to the clip. Ashford says the number will likely go up and they don’t officially close out for a few hours.

If they were really upfront about it as you claim PM wouldn't have had his gotcha moment.
