Agree 100% but ...

Border reopening completely led by two things

UK infection rates

IOM vaccination rollout

They can provide dates on reopening based on the acceptable data set that they wish to see on both.

Howie wants to leave it to next administration so he can’t be blamed for any problems

Excellent news re the road plan for the exit strategy. Presumably that clarity is something which everyone can get behind as the island moves forward.

Hopefully.

But concern is understandable based on who they've handled things to date.

The IOM vaccine rollout must be the most important factor. Infection rates will rocket when the UK opens up, however, because the vulnerable will be protected, that won't matter so much. I hope they have factored this in, otherwise this is going to go on for a very long time.

I have Tynwald on in the background, but was only half listening. I am thought I heard Howie saying some border restrictions will likely be in place until August/September as part of the gradual easing into normality. Anyone out there who was paying more attention than me, and noted the detail of what he said?

Did anyone else hear Harmer sucking up to Howie just now? 😷

What clarity, sounds usual clear as mud government document, open in September when UK and probably most of Europe will be open end of June.

Most people will be going to UK to visit families etc as soon as UK hotels, hospitality open up which is scheduled mid May

Keys broadcast re children going back to school 1st March. Julie Edge MHK sticking the knife into Education Minister. Twisting it a bit. Then a bit more, why not.

Allinson is another now realising that Covid isn't all about riding on the 8 month covid-free crest of a wave.

ETA:

To be fair, he sounds very low, and doesn't sound too well.

Dr Allinson does not sound well. Someone needs to check on him.

Fairplay to CoMin & Co, these guys have probably had little sleep and rest all lockdown and a shedload of worry. Working for the best interests of the Island.
