Our date seems to hinge on everyone being vaccinated. He dropped it in a couple of times this evening. Do the CIs make the same stipulation?

No they don’t stipulate that as they know the priority groups will be done by 1st July. When challenged today, Howie & Ashie just waffled and said dates can change etc

Regarding the sad death of someone from "the older age group", it seems likely that they had not been vaccinated or at least not for long enough for sufficient immunity to have been established. May explain the reticence to confirm either way.

Looking at the numbers, if the vaccinations had started when they could have done in December and they had jabbed right up to the stock available, ie not insisted on 10k kept in stock, by now all over 65s would have been jabbed and over 70s at least a couple of weeks ago. A more timely decision to delay 2nd jabs would have made that even earlier.

Platitudes like "its not a race" and "its better to do it right than quickly" don't sound so smug now, just complacent.

Had a look at the new "dashboard"  - looks like 10 mins work by a 10 year old. Thought the box in the Case Summary  "recovered or deceased" is a bit tactless.

Accurate and transparent

Presumably that's why they've now changed it to 'Closed Cases'.  Which makes it sound like they've all died (of course there should be separate totals).

I was looking forward to the public's warm applause when HQ and DA stroll out of the church into the bright sunshine at St Johns on Tynwald day to announce Independence from Covid. No need for false modesty.

We are still on track for that I think.

Also we have no information if the deceased had any underlying health issues or was a returning resident from UK hospital.
