Whilst the target of another period of local elimination would be nice, the reality is that it's going to be a tough ask this time. Especially are folks don't seem to be really trying his time.

If we don't get local elimination before all the O50s are vaccinated there will be little point trying anymore. We have to fall in step with the rest of the world at some stage so that would be a sensible time to do it (Assuming UK and European rates are similar to ours by then).

Well we can only aspire to UK rates at present 😂

Considering hardly anyone sticks to the rules in UK, they all seem to visit parents/friends etc they are doing extremely well.

The UK figures show the dramatic impact vaccination appears to be having. From a peak of 7 day average of 1,250 deaths per day 23 January now down to 145 per day now. About a 90% reduction.

Other good news is IOM 7 day infection rate is at 63 down from a peak of 79 5 days ago.

maybe asymptomatic posties are delivering it to your door. ?

Well tell me why not?

It seems that no one has a particular clue. Everything is so nebulus and uncertain. The data - and that includes genomics - is key.

Where did you get that snippet from?  Not a man down the pub, surely?

Is the Rovers doing food deliveries or something like that?

I know someone who was there on the last day before lockdown, he and his mates have all tested positive.

I see the police are posting about yoofs congregating in Noble's Park.  I see quite a few groups out and about as I go about my essential business.  Given that kids make up the largest group of infectees,  this really does need to be addressed.

And a thousand people a day are travelling to enclosed spaces meeting with vaccinators who are meeting with others and then going home to their families. That alone is concerning.

Maybe they should use blowpipes and darts  like vets do, from behind a hedge.
