A candidate for a one way ticket to St Helena.

If he'd gone a couple of years ago he could have had a reunion with his old mate Mark Charters...

So all questions from the great Isle of Man Public are to be filtered and asked 'on our behalf' by James Davis ex Manx Radio and now Isle of Man Advertising & Public Relations.

Mr Quayle said to Tynwald when announcing this today that ''members all know and like / respect James''.

So even more IOMG control, control and control. Doesn't that say it all really?

Here is a bit from James's company website:

''We are also the exclusive agents for key advertising sites around the Isle of Man, including the Airport, Sea Terminal, Palace and Broadway Cinemas, Bus Vannin fleet, Isle of Man Steam Packet Company vessels and UK ferry terminals.''

No-one could make this stuff up............................................................

I understand from friends living there that Guernsey briefings are very highly regarded as is their Director of Public Health who regularly does extra briefings via Facebook on her own to give more information.

The questions are normally very professionally answered with none of the sarcasm of our leaders

Yes, their briefings are excellent and I wish ours were more like theirs. I watched several when they first went into their last lockdown and they're very detailed. Think I mentioned it here.

No eye-rolling or sarcasm whatsoever.

Isn’t that the usual format for them doing public Q&A sessions? The previous ones have been like that. Presumably cut out the abusive dickhead questions.

Today's House: Bill Shimmins:

''.........................CoMin needs to step up their game. Chief criticising the media is not on, should stop doing it. If you want to shorten briefings, cut out the history lessons, don’t muzzle the press. The Q&A with James Davis is sinister and no way to communicate. This is causing significant anxiety and there is an urgent need for clarity. New exit plan needs to deliver hope.''

Gosh, they talk to their population like they are intelligent adults.  They are confident, natural, informed and deliver in a relaxed, friendly style.  They accept that everyone knows the back story and just get on with it.

I don't think it's changed at all.  I think they've always known what a domineering, duplicitous, bully he is. Perhaps now, with growing pressure from their constituents and knowing that HQ is on his way out has emboldened them somewhat.

Fortunately he had Allinson & Baker plus Henderson chipping into help him out as he was under the cosh for a while
