There'll be some pressure on Big Howard to allow visiting cruise passengers landing rights from the beginning of August

Will he succumb?

The first one is booked to visit early July. MNH will close the doors of agreed attractions, exclude the Manx tax payer public for the day, herd the cruisers onto coaches and bus them round with no human contact.

A fourth cruise line had announced its starting cruises around UK with new £800m , 6400 passengers ship. No tests required if vaccinated so obviously confident that once vaccinated you’re safe and protocols cleared by UK health. These ships are not designed with elderly market in mind

That's not  correct.

All guests will be tested before they embark the ship and non-vaccinated guests will also be required to show proof of a negative test conducted up to 72 hours prior to embarkation. Other pre-boarding and onboard measures will also apply to both guests and crew, in line with MSC Cruises’ industry-leading health and safety protocol.

The test before arrival is just the rapid flow test they do at terminal, they’ve been doing them in Europe cruises all winter. The benefits of being vaccinated is that you don’t need to pay for a PCR test before arrival. You pay £20 for their insurance and you’re covered for all medical expenses, cancellation for COVID, full refund if you test positive at terminal etc

P&o are only allowing vaccinated passengers on board

Yes, I know. But you said vaccinated people don't get tested when they do. A test is a test, be it PCR or LF.

As you said, they will be utilising the same onboard protocols that the Grandiosa's voyages demonstrated during it's Mediterranean cruises this last few months. I was hoping that they'd insist on vaccinated only and relax some of those measures, so was a little disappointed when this was announced.

We've been with MSC a dozen or so times, always in Yacht Club. I'd highly recommend that as a cruise experience.

P&O and Princess are both offering UK staycation cruises for vaccinated people only.

Ok apologies it’s not a PCR but a free rapid one, we’ve been with MSC many times as well as were actually booked in the virtuosa in April but obviously cancelled. I think MSC wants to get more families , hence the unvaccinated guests with full PCR test, seems to have worked well on Grandiosa so far.
