Fucks sake the the Government have acted like the Mafia over this. It's really sad reading.

All else apart in all this Dr Glover acknowledges in lettergate there was such a letter. Whether Minister Ashford was wise in disclosing its contents is another matter. But it seems to put to bed the accusation that it never existed.

That's a weird take on this. Ignore everything else that was said but focus on a letter she never denied existed but one she can never truly know did exist because if it did Ashford shredded it.

You take comfort from that?  There was a letter, no one doubted it, but who was it from and why?

This all brings to a head the need to get the Abbotswood and SP investigations done and published pretty quickly.  Let's get all the shit out there and put those on the receiving end out of their misery.  Either they were culpable or not, but let's deal with it.

Even you can't defend the government over this, not if you're honest with yourself.

We also need to see some results of other 'investigations ',

There were many who doubted there was a letter. Many said it was an invention. You must recall that.

It was said to be from a disgruntled colleague/ associate who was pissed off that Dr G was claiming all credit and ignoring the input of others.

The whole transcript revolves around “she said”/ “they said” and until concrete evidence has been produced to prove one way or the other I would be very wary of jumping to conclusions

Didn't Ashford produce this "letter" at a press conference (before conveniently "shredding" it)?

It was he who brought "the letter" into play  not Dr. Glover.

I said “all else apart” ie ignoring everything else? Do you not understand?

Yep just a typo but why would mistyping Minter for Minister be timely or appropriate?
I don’t understand

A Scots lass at work says it all the time, but it's perhaps not as common as I'd thought.

It was said to be from a health worker, iirc, but the implication it was from someone working with her. Yes, many said it was an invention, but there is a semantic argument as to whether the piece of paper existed and whether that piece of paper was actually what it was represented to be.

Is there a transcript already?  From listening to it, there was also direct reference to correspondence and to public pronouncements, such as her employment status.  There are also emails apparently.
