Ah well, I didn't even get tipsy.

Anyway, here's today's Facebook viewing figures graph. A bit of dip just before questions but there was a good few people watching this today, 4k at the end of broadcast (plus Manx Radio and Youtube)

I only ever listen to these things on manx radio, sometimes online but still via manx radio. Even when i used to have to switch to am to listen to the questions

Guernsey are doing something similar, also Jersey considering reducing any isolation requirement for those vaccinated

https://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2021/04/08/covid-status-certification-could-enable-freer-travel/

Suggesting <50 cases per 100,000 puts countries on the Green list, neg test on entry & release.

I think the UK is currently hovering around the mid 40 number per 100,000.

Looking at Jersey's vax stats, we are very similar in terms of numbers dosed so where is our exit plan?

That Mark Lewin piffle a couple of weeks back was a complete and utter waste of time and I bet that document cost a small fortune to put together.

Revised exit plan due for next Tynwald, 3a on target for end of April with testing/isolating requirements being discussed at Comin next week is what Howard said today

Most of that will be how to get airport check in areas open and save the skirting boards !

You would hope that those already vaxed will not be required to isolate.

you would,  but as the vax doesn't stop you getting it or spreading it  ( just an opinion, not a fact ) what difference does it make whether vaxed or not in an isolation context  ?

The NHS is protected & vulnerable will have been (are already) vaccinated.

Testing prior to entry or before further reduces the risk.

We are at the stage where we move on.

Increasing evidence that once vaccinated it greatly reduces your ability to spread virus if you catch it which is why airlines, cruise companies, countries are willing to accept vaccinated travelers without restrictions

Taking a look at the Jersey reopening framework.

It seems that they are planning on allowing all inbound travel to resume no earlier than May 17 (excluding U.K. banned country list).

It’s unclear on the isolation / testing requirements from that date but it’s nice to see them put a date on it.

Are we that far behind our Channel Island counterparts?

Yes. We still have 75 active cases. Jersey has 4. Jersey has a real need for tourism we do not. Other than that, we are ahead of Jersey on a per capita basis vaccine wise. Give it a couple months we will be in a much better position to open  than Jersey is now.

FFS will you give the negativity a rest & stop supporting lockdowns & borders closures, even Howie is starting to realize we need to open up.

HA, HA,HA, You really make me laugh. Nom De Plume asked why we are not doing the same as Jersey? Are we behind? The answer is yes! Quite simple! Jersey has been in lockdown all this year. At least we had February off for good behaviour. Jersey has administered 68K jabs to our 60K. On a per capita basis, it puts us slightly ahead. However, they are slightly ahead on second jabs. Now our weakness. Banker, remember you are not yet vaccinated. You are only part so. If we had stuck to the manufacturers recommendation, in a couple of weeks you would be done. Now you have to wait until June. Most of the rest of the world is sticking to recommendations.

What monumental fuck to had happened....before Easter the kids teachers said they would be in school on 12th April if nothing changed.....nothing changed if anything things got better but schools are not going back until 19th?? So please someone anyone explain in what or how this changed and what took us off the path?  Is it the unions again or people too scared to make any blinking decisions...or was it schools didn’t shout enough like construction so the government didn’t crumble

The teachers get paid the builders don't.
