IOM Covid removing restrictions

I don't usually listen to keys or the committee meetings but have yesterday and today.

Unless I missed it re the borders, have they actually given a single piece of definite information re dates, levels in the UK required, vaccine rollout percentages etc?

All I have heard is "some people would open tomorrow" "some would stay closed for ever" "need to balance risk " blah blah blah.

It is irrelevant what side or other wants, its down to data surely?  Time to ditch the pandering to either extreme and do the right thing and that is to do a proper data driven risk assessment, acknowledging that nothing is risk free and the non-covid risks of lockdown and border closure have had very little assessment.

Forget the Karen’s on FB. We are back to over egging departure figures.

Millions!

'one of a team looking after the belongings of millions of people setting off on all kinds of journeys'.

That's probably across the whole company's operations.

I haven't looked on the website but I suspect that either an airline, a government body or a tourist body needs to add IOM to the list. I think TIMATIC is an opt-in application rather than by right. Could be wrong.

The IOM and CI could be added into the text for UK as exemptions in the same way as they've added jobs that are exempt

Whatever, the point is, there needs to be some sort of solution put in place. Otherwise someone is going to get stranded abroad

Good. Let those who wish to resume travelling do so.

I would allow those who are vaccinated unrestricted travel. No isolation. No quarantine.

Seriously for a moment to answer the point.  It needs information setup on the likes to TIMATIC which is used by airlines and agents.

Here's a link to a publicly accessible TIMATIC site  https://www.united.com/en/us/timatic?i=TIMATIC

Most use a private access

If I remember this TIMATIC information is cross linked in the airline booking system - visa requirements etc and to have your countries data in TIMATIC typically comes from a national carriers IATA membership which has quite a high annual fee. IOM no national carrier the IOM Gov would have to supply the info through IATA. Maybe a travel agent / former agent could confirm.

Yes, but as there are no direct flights from anywhere you have to set it as transit via LHR.

The info about IOM or CI or Ireland as ultimate destination doesn’t appear. So it tells whoever uses it that they have to pay for the 2 test UK package.

Here is UK NHS track & Test and Routing official advice.

Im sorry for poor copy quality

i keep reading about how cheap chartering aircraft is at the moment it may be financially viable to charter a direct flight to EGNS than pay out approaching 2k to stay in a hotel in the uk and waste almost 2 weeks of your life.  do all incoming flights here  have to originate in the british isles ? this would avoid any confusion at a UK airport as to whether you have to quarantine there first or not or whether you are allowed to continue your journey.
