This however is based on your travel history https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel/phase5b Well Jersey is 14 days without a test , Guernsey is test on 7th day and out 8th if negative. No one sane will elect for 14 days. Guernsey statement says we have to start opening up so stop spouting rubbish Indeed why should @piebaps believe what the Guernsey Government say on their own website when he has what some anonymous person the internet to correct him? The voices in your head are much more reliable. 1

So what was that guy moaning about here the other day? He said that the restrictions were preventing him from doing business in the UK. You're saying that he can work remotely from home and travel back and forth to the UK at will? So the restrictions are not even stopping people from doing work in the UK? The amount of strange registration plates on our roads at the moment would suggest not.

Completely agree. Ended up talking to a very furtive chap today at the Tin Bath Races getting back into his illegally parked UK registered car. Was asking what the best route back out to Peel was as the roads were busy. Clearly hadn’t a clue where he was going and didn’t really want to open up about why he clearly had no clue where he was going or how long he’d been here. There’s absolutely loads more cars on UK and foreign plates here than usual. But the borders are closed so we’re all safe. No need to check up on them either as they’re all smashing law abiding Manx residents. Hallelujah!! Yes, Either garages are selling lots of UK reg cars which have not been registered, or we have a load of imports here who should be in isolation. Quite disturbing really.

pongo
It's nobody's nosy business where someone else's car is registered or why. People really must have very little to think about if they even notice someone else's registration plate.

Hilarious, actually a lot of people know what’s going on (registration observation is a common issue many have observed). I know of at least 15 families who have moved “back” who have very tenuous links with the IOM to say the least. As well as knowing of several who have moved here to work in government jobs who are effectively taking jobs off unemployed locals but who have been given clearance to move over anyway. The whole system wants proper controls in place. Not people looking after mates and family or made up stories being rubber stamped. Especially when none of them are tested and are basically trusted to self isolate largely unchecked. Plus back to my original comment. If you’re in Castletown and you’re not sure how to get to Peel in your UK registered car as the roads look a bit busy I’m not that sure how strong your local connection likely is. Hard not to notice the black and silver Guernsey plates cruising around ditto strange format Hong Kong ones I even clocked one along the lines of UKIOMTT the other day.
