Would love to see them prosecute anyone who leaves isolation early. People are confused because they cant manage the simplest of communications. Tynwald instructed Howard to retrospectively apply the reduced fees& isolation rules with Alf supporting motion so Howard had to agree! Many wanted time table brought forward saying we should be at level 2 now so I expect dates may be amended in next few weeks

But you’re not realistic, your prediction of IOM borders opening September was totally unrealistic as was your constant assertion that UK would not meet roadmap. As for your comments that no accommodation can be booked in Uk , well😂

That was probably one of the reasons they wrote it that way. I’d wager that at the time the assumption from Cabinet Offices own “Mr Lockdown” who basically shut down everything was that there would be no future use for Ronaldsway ever so it could be safely converted to a vaccination centre indefinitely.

Won't really make much difference to the traffic flow generally. A two lane contraflow is going see the same one lane down the way and the two lane up the way doesn't really add anything from a volume perspective. It's a pointless dual carriageway. Great for flying up there quickly mind

Realistic is that given mounting pressure and low cases in the UK, we will be travelling to and from the UK with no testing and no isolation in just under 4 weeks from now. It would be unwise to assume that there was any thinking behind the use of the Airport for a vaccination hub other than the DoI thinking: "What's the best way to give our mates some nice juicy contracts for something unnecessary? While we swan around looking important". It is after all the only possible rationale behind practically everything else that the DoI has done over the last decade and more. Everything else should be expected to fit in round that.
Nom de plume
How long are families hosting arrivals going to have to isolate? I thought the original intention was free movement for them? Is this the <30 in 100,000 number again?

Via boat and plane. The disappointment amongst the social media doom mongers is palpable now. Low case numbers. Hardly anyone in hospital. All those Covid Cassandras and their predictions of total meltdown and a return to lockdown within a week are starting to look very silly. It seems to be annoying a fair few them quite a bit now that literal viral Armageddon as authoritatively predicted hasn’t actually happened yet.

They shouldn't be now really. 3 more weeks tops I reckon then there won't even be isolation for the visitors hopefully. This is already announced if they test negative on arrival, but hopefully they will do away with the test as well.

Lots of second jabs to administer there between the start of next week and the end of June. They can just stick the Bushy's marquee on the grass opposite the terminal, stick some nice skirtingboards in and it will be good to go.

Get out. That Bushy's marquee was too cheap for overnment. Would have to be a Hooded Ram marquee funded by one of our esteemed ( and now departed) HNWI's. It would be called "The Raj Vaxall" Edited May 4, 2021 by trmpton
