No it is not. Boris even said so himself in a press briefing a couple of weeks ago. The result of the vaccination program are only just starting to be seen. Now the uk has realised its cock up, it is rapidly getting second jabs done.

No they have not. They are going to take that position from 28 May if things in the uk stay as they are or improve. You still test on arrival and have to take the risk of being stuck there.

Yes they have, test on arrival is good & no isolation if fully vaccinated.

Also Jersey are not using stupid level of 30 per 100k , they are already at green for 50 per 100k.

You really are the most negative of the doom coven and need to get out of bunker more😂

Germans are nicking our holidays!!

Germans are snapping up holiday deals ahead of Britons due to No 10's 'amazing caution', travel chief warns

British tourists are in danger of having the best holiday hotspots snapped up by travellers from other European countries because of the government's cautious holidays restart, TUI's chief executive has suggested.

In an interview with Ian King Live, Friedrich Joussen said his firm has seen a surge in bookings in countries like Germany - with the lowest number recently recorded in the UK.

Bookings for holidays to Portugal have gone through the roof after the country was added to the government's green travel list. However, four of the most popular destinations for British tourists - Spain, France, Italy and the US - were left off altogether. Instead, their amber rating means people who travel to these countries will need to self-isolate on their return.

It's gonna be great if they don't ease off. You boys are gonna be apoplectic:D

I doubt that.

I think most just want a clear & concise statement on why the Isle of Man are interpreting data differently from other U.K. jurisdictions such as the Channel Islands, Isle of Wight, Shetlands, etc

AFAIK our vaccination programme is equal to or better than many of our counterparts & our hospital provisions are similarly geared.

Why or what is it that is making our politicians (or should I say CoMin) so cautious? Are we using different advisory bodies to the rest of the U.K.?

..........Johnson was talking through his slimmed-down nether region. It was demonstrably rubbish as was proved within hours even by his beloved 'scientific' establishment.  Quite where he got that from, or more pertinently who fed him that patent lie to sustain the defence of a failed policy , needed shooting.  All numbers of cases (in the UK) have peaked before lockdowns were introduced.

I am not negative. Did you actually read Jersey's directive? It is from 28 May. Pointing out the truth does not make me negative. Not reading the directive properly does make you look stupid, though.

Of course the devil will be in the detail of our supposed move to Level 2 on May 29.

Who will be permitted to travel & what will be the isolation / testing requirements.

The exit framework is a blag document & ambiguous at best.

Am I? Remember your post just above about Germans booking all the best holidays? Do you know why?

It is because they have abandoned the 12 week gap and you can get it after 4 weeks. 70% will be fully Vaccinated by end of July. 12-15 year olds will be vaccinated before next school year. Where will we be? Probably still with Boris' closed border policy.

It hasn't really been proved at all.  There are three possible causes of the reduction in the UK: vaccination, lockdowns and the coming of Summer (coronavirus infections tend to peak in January/February).  In reality the reduction is probably due to a mixture of all three.  After all with no vaccinations, the levels dropped right down last Summer only to rise again in the Autumn.

As someone kindly reminded us above, you only have to look to the Seychelles to see that vaccination isn't an automatic way of stopping the virus.  They have very high rates of vaccination: 98% of the targeted population (which seems to be all over-18s) have had one dose and 86% both.  And yet they have an outbreak at the moment.

Now vaccination is still making a big difference, especially in reducing the most severe cases and deaths.  And it may be that the maximum level of immunity had been quite reached when the current out break started, though they would have been ahead of practically everywhere else.  But vaccination doesn't seem to solve everything.
