Already called it this week, they will defer citing the Delta variant as a desperate pretext to try and keep us bottled up for another month so we can't all fuck off and spend our hoarded billions anywhere except this dump and the bigger dump next door.

They are going to look like proper dicks if they extend the border controls when by all accounts the boat is getting full for every sailing over the summer.

Hospitality bosses on radio at recruiting drive today saying lots of bookings from start of July and they need to know by next week what rules will be.

They will obviously be looking for financial support to cover any lost business due to borders restrictions

Anyway, how is Ashy planning a 'complex logistical exercise' to give booster jabs when there is no official concensus on booster jabs?

People are still going to be turning 18 and may want a jab? There's also the possibility that over 12s will be vaccinated.

I'm not sure any contry on earth is planning to end their primary vaccination programme. But then no other county took a 2 week vaccination holiday.

Manx solutions for Manx (created) problems too the extreme.

What problem has been created ?

Well, the BBC are now reporting the benefits of delaying things, and by the time they do, you get the feeling that they’re floating for public opinion. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-57434493

I reckon locally they’ll definitely bottle it if the UK is climbing.  30 per 100k was given as the magic figure wasn’t it?

That was way back when they had no idea of the efficacy of the vaccines. Things are different now.

For most of April and May, the 7-day average was below that test anyway per the UK Gov’s website. And that figure, as you said, was before we had an idea of the efficacy of the vaccine.

The 7 day average is irrelevant. Its 14 days and the uk has not been below 30 since april 2020

from the BBC's own report

"What is more, the data on its own does not tell the full story. There is evidence the people being admitted to hospital are younger and less seriously ill than in previous waves, and so need less treatment and spend less time in hospital. There seems to be very few doubled-jabbed patients despite those being the most at risk of serious illness - providing further confidence about just how well the vaccines work."

Get as many as possible double jabbed, open up and lets try and move on, then take steps "if" the hospitals start to fill up. But no Project Fear 2 - The return of the lockdown is in full swing.

Which is probably why the cabinet office put it in exit strategy knowing it would never happen

Meanwhile, rumour has it that we might move to level 2.501. This is of course subject to data not dates.

Level 2.501 sees a significant change in that not only will family be able to visit as well as home owners but this level would see pet hamsters able to travel too.

Seriously the best way to get opened up is a decent outbreak which will hopefully come in the next week or so.

No justification anymore if our levels are the same as the UK and the numbers of people travelling this week it is only a matter of time - hopefully.

I am doing a little COVID dance
