STATES OF GUERNSEY. ( especially for Banker so he can moan/cream his pants/tell us “told you so” )

As prevalence levels continue to rise across the UK, the Civil Contingencies Authority (CCA) has made the difficult decision to amend planned changes to travel rules, which are due to take effect from 1 July.

Those travelling from the UK, who have had both doses of their vaccine, with the second dose being at least 14 days prior to arriving, will be able to travel to The Islands of Guernsey from 1 July with no testing or self-isolation requirements on arrival.

For those not yet fully vaccinated, they will have to continue to follow the Categories system we have in place. See which category you are in here: https://covid19.gov.gg/guidance/travel/countries

This decision will be reviewed every two weeks. Read more here: gov.gg/julytravelrules

Already posted a while ago John, you need to read previous posts to avoid repetition 😂

However here’s Jersey for you , something similar. Helps having testing at ports .

what is the fucking point in rushing to get vaccinations done if we can't fucking go anywhere where we might need a vaccination for. Why worry about 2 doses at all if no-one here has it.

said it earlier this is simply a ploy to keep us here to spend our cash on 'staycations'

they are a fucking joke.

They are all going to look like utter tits if Boris goes for it on the 21st.

same question applies, whats the point in rushing to vaccinate if you are going to lock everyone away for the forseeable future.

1st vaccine = 33% protection 2nd = 66%. They've not dented the 2nd dose yet of 50 to 59 yr olds yet - plus it takes 2 weeks for the 2nd dose to protect. That age group is large proportion of those suffering in UK.

Any word on the genomic testing that Hetty mentioned last week? Any sign of the results that might give us an indication of what particular strain we're dealing with here now? i know it's only been a week or so but I would have hoped for some news.  I'm optimistic like that.

It takes a week to get the results back from Liverpool.
