Not a clue.  Nor do I have any clue how these decisions will impact our lives going forward.

Indicators at the moment are that COVID is now much less of a threat in the UK and on island than a bad flu season is due to the vaccine.

Much less of a risk than smoking, drinking, or even being over weight.

A guy nearly died playing football and doing exercise live on TV last night.  People die on sports pitches fairly regularly.

Where does this new incredibly risk averse world leave us now a precedent has been set that we stop travel and wear masks to prolong the lives of a tiny number of people?  It’s insane

Well if that happens it just shows how pathetic people are and that the whole vaccine thing was a waste of time.

I am no conspiracy theorist but this makes zero sense anymore.

Cases are increasing in young people who are not then becoming seriously ill.  Who cares?

I haven’t seen any data to suggest everything needs to be out on hold.  Nothing.

UK recently.  Masks where compulsory but no where else.

Didn’t use hand sanitiser once.  Must have hugged/shaken hands with over 50 people (including some from Bolton!!!!!)

was in loads of houses with loads of groups.  Often more than are “permitted”

Four of us, so multiply risk by 4.

This is the sort of information that needs to be fully known (the vaccine thing is easy and an obvious start).

As extremes, perhaps on the one hand the virus will transmit no matter what and so we just carry on life as usual and take on the risk as it comes, and on the other hand we need to tighten up controls and possibly even eradicate the virus?

We will never eradicate it. That's the point. Live with it like flu and protect the vulnerable. 

People also have to remember that vaccines teach our immune systems. If a person's immune system is not triggered in a timely manner then they get Ill.

Some people's immune system will not trigger even after vaccination. That may be, sadly, because they are very ill or infirm. That's why the efficacy can never be 100% and double jabbed people will still die. Just like infirm people still die of flu and pneumonia even after vaccination.

I brought this up a few weeks ago. Each state makes their own rules and guidelines. One thing that is known is that exposure to strong sunlight kills Covid instantly. So, southern states like Texas, Arizona, etc have virtually no restrictions now. Some cooler states such as Washington and Maine still have restrictions. Maine is a good example. Summer weather there is quite similar to here, so what they have done is lifted all restrictions for anyone who is 2 jabs plus 2 weeks. 

Now in the uk, they are concerned that if they do that (passports for events) it will cause discrimination. So the lowest common denominator wins. We all go or nobody goes. Uk has chosen the latter.
