I think one of the points that gets missed, is that as an Island, we don't really know some restrictions.

It's either a full lockdown or back to normal.

Do we actually need a mixture? Wearing masks out and about, for the sake of the more relaxed stance on travel? If masks and some distancing mitigates against local spread, is that a worthy price to pay for freely coming and going?

Yes I agree. IMO - We should open up but accept some small common sense compromises as they do in the UK

There is no point at all in wearing masks if prevalence is very low.

Unless you're wanting to keep the flu at bay. Week ending 28th May according to ONS more people died from influenza and pneumonia than COVD-19 (where any mention of COVID is on the death certificate):

Exactly.  I cannot even begin to get my head around peoples thought process on this given the recent figures.

Flu deaths have basically been equal or greater than COVId since 9th April

3 weeks to save the NHS
3 more months
Don't wear masks they don't help
Wear masks they are essential
Only Tier 1 ... Tier 2 ... Tier 3 ...
Only a circuit breaker
Give up November to save Christmas
... Christmas to save January
Only until the over-70s have been jabbed
- over 60s
- over 50s
Everybody.
Give up February to save Easter
Give up Easter to save the summer
£5k fine to go on holiday

One last heave & we'll be there ....

^ Not my work but lovely work all the same ^

The stats would suggest that we're all more at risk of death from flu and pneumonia than COVID. I sincerely hope that the EAG are looking at these numbers because if not then we won't be opening up until this time next year.

What happened to the data mantra??
