Potentially here, assuming we will still have no social distancing, no restrictions on gatherings and no mask wearing whatsoever, it makes us stand out from the rest of the UK, it must be very odd for an island resident currently to go from no restrictions here to the UK which still has some odd restrictions in place (only 6 per table at a wedding for example, 30 max guests, no dance floors although bizarrely private venues are allowed)

Its not odd at all, and the wedding restrictions are being eased on 21st

It is odd when one neighbouring country has restrictions and one doesn’t, with borders relaxed in an ideal world everyone should be singing from the same hymn sheet, either same restrictions or no restrictions.

How would that work.  Because every country in Europe, Asia and Africa all neighbour each other.  Should they all have the same restrictions?

Tbh, if you are travelling anywhere, and haven't learnt to check these things after the past 15 months, then you shouldn't be allowed (aloud) out on your own.

The piece by gef mentions the NHS app:

"For those who are coming to the island from the UK, they will need to provide documentation from their GP or other forms of confirmation such as the NHS App. The Manx Gov has told Gef plans are being put into action to ensure Manx residents will also have the required documentation in time for the change to take effect."

I'm reading that as it will be available from the 28th

I read that as we 'should' be on the NHS app before the 28th

Ill?  Not cases, people who are actually ill?

48 active cases in Jersey today.  That isn't 48 people who are ill is it?

Probably actually more than 48. You yourself Gone on about people with symptoms not wanting to be tested because they cannot afford the time off work to isolate.

I think it's bullshit that health workers have to stay away from work for 10 days

They wear PPE at work

Yet it's ok for them to go to a crowded indoor venue such as pub, restaurant or nightclub which is a far greater risk

Not really, working in a health care setting they are dealing with more vulnerable people than those they would interact with in a pub

Thats not ill though.  You said people were ill.

Having a runny nose doesn't make you ill.  It makes you have a runny nose.

You use inflammatory language to try and exaggerate a point.

70 people testing positive is a non issue.  If they were all previously fit and healthy people who were now in ICU you would have a point and it would be a real concern.

Some people with no symptoms and some with cold like symptoms aren't a concern or even worth mentioning.
